Yeah overall 1 star because like what was that beach lol dead fish washing up, dog poo on the beach that owners didn’t pick up for whatever reason, then we find out there’s a designated dog beach? So you could’ve taken your dogs there but chose to deliberately trash the other one. It smelled so bad we had to bring our chairs within inches of the water because any further back smelled like dead fish and dog crap. The pictures looked so good and the map didn’t say anything about 100ft dunes pretty much vertical that you have to walk down like it was near impossible I was grateful for the tractor that picks up the beach goers. The water was crazy dirty obviously can’t do anything about that but the beach could be groomed. There’s a tractor to drop off/pick up ppl at the beach so why not have one designated to keeping the beach clean? Or even have staff to go to the beach a few times a day to check on the status. Also no electricity in the bathrooms but you charge that much? Could’ve sprung for motion sensors so they would turn off. Designating women/men but both bathrooms having the same stuff is weird because there will be a long line for a certain gender just thinking they can’t use the other bathroom when it’s perfectly fine. Maybe take off the signs? And putting lights at them would be nice too it’s crazy walking into a spider web at 2am and having the biggest spider I’ve ever laid my eyes on an inch from my face. Which also brings me to cleaning. They don’t clean the bathrooms at least from what I saw. I saw a truck go to them most likely replenishing the products but they didn’t seem to be cleaned. And the showers being at the front of the park are so inconvenient. We waited hours for a shower and then it’s a dollar for 4 minutes and there’s not even a machine to break change? So if we needed a shower after front desk closed and didn’t have change we’re screwed. Smoking weed was prohibited but cigarettes were totally fine which was also crazy. And fireworks. No weed but fireworks were fine. And a concert running until 10:30pm when quiet time is supposed to be 11pm so barely any time to listen to our own music. Oh yeah and there really wasn’t much of a “quiet time after 11” I still heard people talking well into the night. The wine tasting was cute but it’s apparently only once a year and we were lucky to book the weekend they had it but the literal mouthful they gave us per sample was wild. And spiders everywhere like i get we’re in their homes but pull the chairs away from the railings then so the spiders don’t walk on them. I do have to say though, the food station they had where they served poutine and slushies and other snacky type stuff was actually insanely good so like the only really good thing about it because we got a medium poutine for $10 and it was big enough to feed 4 people and have leftovers. And it was so good! Honestly it was nice to be able to book a last minute site but I understand why they weren’t fully booked. And I’m used to provincial parks so for me to have a more negative experience at a private establishment is a bit sad. As great as the poutine was(and it was really great) I wouldn’t go back. Hope they can improve.

First time at this park & we were all impressed. We only stayed 1 night which isn’t always possible to book with other campgrounds. We met one of the owners, Sharon who was very personable and told us the history of the park. She also made a point of stopping to chat with us before we left. Key points: • very clean sites, no garbage or debris from previous campers • friendly staff & seasonal campers • beautiful private beach for park users only - beach is monitored during the day which is great for those with kids • stunning views of the lake throughout the park Overall our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sand Hill Park. It’s clear the staff and owners take pride in this family business. We will absolutely be back!

Very expensive campground, not a lot of amenities. They even charge for showers. Main beach was good, dog beach was very wet, no where to set up for the day without sitting in wet sand. It's a one and done for us.

The man working the front gate (John Alton) displayed deeply inappropriate, misogynistic, racist, and perverted behavior. As we were leaving, he yelled “Goodbye and never come back” - completely unprovoked. He falsely accused us of speeding (50 km/h) on exit, which was blatantly untrue. The real issue seemed to be that we were wearing a bikini top in our own car, which he clearly took offense to. The interaction was laced with judgment and made us feel deeply uncomfortable and unsafe. His behavior was not only unprofessional, it was disturbing - he ogled us, made aggressive assumptions, and used his position to humiliate and intimidate. This kind of conduct has no place in public-facing roles. I am worried for the young female staff who work under this individual. I strongly advise others, especially women, to avoid this park until serious changes are made to staff training and accountability. However, I feel this is more-so an ownership issue so my best advice is to avoid altogether.

Had a great week camping in our motor home With family. They gave us a beautiful lot for two motor homes. Park was clean and quiet When we were leaving our motor home had a flat tire and someone from the office came with a mobile air compressor to get us going! Definitely on our “come back soon” list!

The best! I come here every summer and it’s always a great day trip. The water is so nice and the beach is well kept. Lots of fun climbing the dunes, it’s worth the entry price. A hidden gem we have in Norfolk! It is physically difficult to get up the dunes so make sure the beach wagon is in service that day to get to and from the water if you are physically restricted in any way.

We arrived there earlier than the opening time so we parked nearby and was greeted by the owner. We went into the park. I had a Nice Time with my 2 daughters and wife here for the day. It was a new experience with the sand on the hill and some corn field for pics. It is neat. My daughters played in the sand and in the water. We enjoyed it. It is a big place. They have a paying shower for $1 for 4 minutes. Decent. We took lots of pics and saw an eagle and birds living in holes on the sand hill. The staffs are friendly and courteous. We would definitely come back. I would give it 5 stars if they have Free WIFI. Other than that it is a beautiful place.
