Grounds were well-kept, lush and gorgeous. Our RV site was flat with plenty of play room For the kids. Sites can be a little tight but didn’t feel that way. Restrooms were plentiful and clean. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. A special shoutout to Oscar and Solomon for going out of their way to make our stay that much better. We had a great time and already booked next years vacation.

We have stayed here several times over the last few years. There have been mixed experiences. We first stayed in a luxury tent. It was an okay experience. The heated blanket did not work so I froze all night. We were also pretty far from the restrooms. However, the Pine Tent was awesome. Nice spot to hang out. We also loved the little store, they had the best options as we eat healthy and organic food. The souvenirs were so good, we bought so many things. The last time we stayed there we stayed in a cabin. It is a shared wall with another cabin. It has a fireplace. The problem was that every time we used it, it set off the fire alarm, even with all the windows and doors open. Then in the middle of the night the fire detector, which is one you have at home, was beeping all night due to low battery. Security knocked on our door in the middle of the night to assist, however it is located at the top of 10 ft ceiling, which I think is why the smoke also accumulates here and always goes off. So we had to deal with the beeping smoke detector all night. Fun. Security told us to ask for half off that night's stay. The front desk didn't really want to do this, but eventually gave in. Their restaurant was okay, a little over priced for it not being anything fancy. We also noticed the grocery store no longer stocked organic items and all the other items were now cheap, not nice items. We didn't purchase anything that time. We asked staff what happened, it was then we were told it had been sold to a new owner. That explained a lot. It wasn't the same place, disappointing. My son then went there after that and said the Pine Tent only sold frozen pizzas and didn't have breakfast items and was overall very disappointed and won't go back. I would love to go back if they improve to what they used to be. Seeing as I can't eat anything there, it would be difficult to be there.

Rooms are nice but we stayed in the campgrounds in our travel trailer. Our sites were a bit narrow but we scouted out some wider spaces for our trip next year. Bathrooms were great and always clean. Activites for the kids were engaging and employees were friendly and helpful. We are planning on visiting again as a group because accomodations can be made for all of us based on need: RV, tents, glamping, cabins, hotel. We used one of each this trip.

Really nice place. Upscale glamping. We're cheap and went with a bungalow (tent), but the bed was super comfy and it had a heater, so still really nice. The grounds are really nice and there's lots of activities for kids and live music for special occasions. We can for the independence weekend get our dog away from the fireworks. It was really nice, quiet, and relaxing. The pizza place sells crappy pizza, but everything else was great. Would definitely come back.

This Fathers day weekend 6/21/26, was our second stay at Costanoa. We had a wonderful time and a great stay. Our kids love the activities and it's proximity to beaches that are very spacious is amazing. There was alit of whale and sea lion action in the sea, visible from camp. We had a minor hiccup on our first evening, but Oscar and Trish handled and rectified this will ease and care. Thank you so much you two!! This was my second time dealing with Oscar, and I absolutely applaud his guest service and friendly demeanor. We will definitely beck back and are already scheduled for February. What a amazing place to enjoy with family and friends. We ate 4 times at the Cascade restaurant. Great all 4 times. Erin was our server 2 of 4 times, A+

Here is the updated review, incorporating the fact that the bathrooms are too far away from these new sites: 2. As a first-time visitor, I was really excited to join friends who have stayed here before and raved about it, but unfortunately, this particular spot missed the mark for us. While the location itself is absolutely beautiful and the views are stunning, the constant, biting wind made our stay pretty uncomfortable. On top of that, the bathrooms are way too far from these new group tent sites. Walking there feels like a drastic, freezing drop in temperature, which makes the long trek even more unpleasant. Our friends mentioned that the previous group sites they used to book were much warmer, well-sheltered from the elements, and conveniently close to the restrooms. By comparison, these current sites feel like a major downgrade. The scenery is gorgeous, but the extreme exposure to the cold and the inconvenient layout completely outweighed the views for us. If you are coming here for the first time, I'd highly recommend making sure you get the older, more sheltered sites—otherwise, I unfortunately can't recommend staying at these specific ones.

Stunning Views, But Bitterly Cold and Poorly Located Costanoa is a beautiful destination with breathtaking scenery, but the current campsite locations are a serious downgrade from the previous group sites. The new sites are positioned further down toward the coast, leaving them fully exposed to a relentless, biting wind. In tents and around the campsites, the cold is inescapable — it follows you all day and makes it nearly impossible to truly enjoy your surroundings. The temperature difference is so dramatic that walking to the bathrooms actually feels warmer — the campsites themselves are the coldest spot, which says a lot. The previous group sites were simply outstanding — warmer, well-sheltered from the wind, and conveniently located near the facilities. The contrast is stark and disappointing — especially for long-time visitors who know what this place is capable of. While the views here are genuinely stunning, the cold and exposure completely overshadow them. We couldn’t relax or enjoy ourselves, and we wouldn’t return to these specific sites. To add insult to injury, the cancellation policy charges $20 per site — which feels unreasonable, particularly when the sites themselves don’t deliver a comfortable experience. Our recommendations to Costanoa management: relocate the group sites further up and away from the coastal wind, where it’s significantly warmer. Consider building cabins to give guests proper shelter from the elements. We have been coming here for years and truly love this place — which is exactly why this change has been so disappointing. We hope to see it corrected.

Spent the weekend here with my family celebrating a birthday and we had an amazing time!! Costanoa truly has it all, from tent camping spots to RV spots to cozy glamping tents to cabins and a beautiful lodge, there’s something for everyone’s speed of camping. Very dog friendly too! What really sets it apart is the setting. Surrounded by lush greenery, a stunning eucalyptus grove, and right next to the ocean, it feels like a peaceful escape only an hour from SF! There are campfires everywhere, perfect for relaxing and soaking in the outdoor vibe. We ate at both the restaurant and the pizza place. Both had great food and drinks! It was especially magical for the kids, activities all weekend like tie dye and even a falconry expert with hawks made it such a unique experience. So cool! Can’t forget about the resident goats too. The whole weekend felt special from start to finish, and it’s one of those rare places that delivers on both relaxation and fun. We’re already planning our return!!

I didn't stay at the hotel but we always stay at the RV park. It is one of our favorite places to stay. This place is always clean and we'll maintained. The Seascape spots are the best, but you literally can't go wrong with any of the other spots either. The restaurant is amazing too. I can't say enough about this place. It really is beautiful and relaxing.

For the lodge - it is priced as a luxury resort, and the location is beautiful, but they have NO food anywhere. I just paid $9 for this single piece of bread with avocado on it. They wouldn't even stretch themselves to provide 2 prices of toast. And this is the only thing they are making, other than a yoghurt parfait. You have to go 30 min north or south for food. Not worth coming here, not worth paying $250 per night, if you are staying at the lodge. If you are camping and have your own food and grill then this is a great spot I think. Also the rooms are built with really shoddy quality. The first floor balcony door barely is lockable - you have to physically lift the whole door, and force it to align with the bolt to lock it. No way someone without significant upper body strength does this successfully. Everything feels like the aesthetic was thought of but then the actual construction was slap dash. And they only tell you about roof work AFTER you check in. I recommend calling ahead and not staying at the lodge until after they're done figuring out how to actually be a quality hotel.

A great place with a variety of options. They have upgraded the Rv sites with nice patio areas. The restaurant is very nice. Get RV site in the more spacious loop areas for room and a view. Very good wifi! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I’m pretty sure this is no longer a KOA as it is not listed on the KOA website. It’s called Costanoa and is INCREDIBLY expensive in regards to RV camping. As in $120-200/night for BYO RV 😳 this world has gone bonkers 🤦🏼‍♀️

Great place to camp and amazing service. Very windy weather. Good bathrooms and showers. We were Tent camping and matience starting doing landscaping at 6am.very loud. This place will have lots of kids and screaming.

Costanoa is a great little mixed-use campground. They offer whatever level of camping you'd like. From cabins, to solo/duo/family tents, to RV and BYO tent camping, and even have a more hotel-like lodge option. We stayed in the outer pine tents, which are a little more private and sleep two comfortably. The tent had everything we needed: a roof over our head, a bed, a small table and chair. Electricity and lighting also included, with a heated blanket. There are no heaters in the outer pine tents. Some tents have fire pits, and some don't, seemingly at random (supposedly due to wildfire risk, but I saw some tents with fire pits directly under a hanging pine branch 15' above, so I don't know how accurate that statement is), so make sure you check to see if your assigned tent has one before hauling in all of your fire wood. There are however conveniently placed community bonfire areas if you don't end up with a fire pit. Also would recommend bringing an additional pillow, as there are only two provided on the bed and they are a little lacking. These aren't complaints, just things to be aware of. Service was great -- we had originally booked a tent in the cypress area, then realized we would prefer the outer pines so we called a day before our reservation and they facilitated the switch and refunded the difference. Michelle was the one who helped us, she was great. The bathrooms on site are clean and showers are about as good as it gets for a campsite, with soap/shampoo/conditioner and towels provided. Bring flip flops though. You are about a five-minute walk from Hwy 1, and then it's a short jaunt over to the Ano Nuevo state beach which is awesome (you can see elephant seals apparently in the winter/early spring seasons). Very easy to go see the sunset, though be prepared for wind. The campsite was also quite windy, and I expect that is normal in this location, so be prepared. It got fairly cold at night but the heated blankets provided did the trick. The restaurants on site are pricy for what you get, but the food is decent. I still recommend bringing your own food to cook, as you are camping after all. The pizza place has a pretty decent bar. Overall, you can tell the place is family friendly, though it was still great as a couple. Amenities were well above average for a campground, and the staff was friendly. Will definitely be coming back someday.

We used to LOVE coming here for breakfast, so much so that we occasionally stayed overnight just for easy access to their breakfast! Unfortunately, ownership of the restaurant changed and they got rid of the entire menu, replaced it with a few burritos and made it takeout only. Such a shame! We’re so sad!
