I’m pretty sure this is no longer a KOA as it is not listed on the KOA website. It’s called Costanoa and is INCREDIBLY expensive in regards to RV camping. As in $120-200/night for BYO RV 😳 this world has gone bonkers 🤦🏼‍♀️

Costanoa is a great little mixed-use campground. They offer whatever level of camping you'd like. From cabins, to solo/duo/family tents, to RV and BYO tent camping, and even have a more hotel-like lodge option. We stayed in the outer pine tents, which are a little more private and sleep two comfortably. The tent had everything we needed: a roof over our head, a bed, a small table and chair. Electricity and lighting also included, with a heated blanket. There are no heaters in the outer pine tents. Some tents have fire pits, and some don't, seemingly at random (supposedly due to wildfire risk, but I saw some tents with fire pits directly under a hanging pine branch 15' above, so I don't know how accurate that statement is), so make sure you check to see if your assigned tent has one before hauling in all of your fire wood. There are however conveniently placed community bonfire areas if you don't end up with a fire pit. Also would recommend bringing an additional pillow, as there are only two provided on the bed and they are a little lacking. These aren't complaints, just things to be aware of. Service was great -- we had originally booked a tent in the cypress area, then realized we would prefer the outer pines so we called a day before our reservation and they facilitated the switch and refunded the difference. Michelle was the one who helped us, she was great. The bathrooms on site are clean and showers are about as good as it gets for a campsite, with soap/shampoo/conditioner and towels provided. Bring flip flops though. You are about a five-minute walk from Hwy 1, and then it's a short jaunt over to the Ano Nuevo state beach which is awesome (you can see elephant seals apparently in the winter/early spring seasons). Very easy to go see the sunset, though be prepared for wind. The campsite was also quite windy, and I expect that is normal in this location, so be prepared. It got fairly cold at night but the heated blankets provided did the trick. The restaurants on site are pricy for what you get, but the food is decent. I still recommend bringing your own food to cook, as you are camping after all. The pizza place has a pretty decent bar. Overall, you can tell the place is family friendly, though it was still great as a couple. Amenities were well above average for a campground, and the staff was friendly. Will definitely be coming back someday.

We used to LOVE coming here for breakfast, so much so that we occasionally stayed overnight just for easy access to their breakfast! Unfortunately, ownership of the restaurant changed and they got rid of the entire menu, replaced it with a few burritos and made it takeout only. Such a shame! We’re so sad!

Beware – This Campsite Does Not Honor Price Agreements After Deposit I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience to help future campers avoid the same issue. After securing a reservation at this campsite and paying a deposit based on an agreed-upon rate, I was later informed that the price had changed—and not in my favor. Despite having a confirmation and proof of the original rate, the management refused to honor the agreement, insisting on a higher fee upon arrival or threatening to cancel the reservation. At one point during negotiations the manager, Alex, offered another site at a discounted rate then went back on their word and avoided all my calls. Several employees agreed I was in the right but that the manager refuses to honor my contract. I was told they can change the price at any time, based on the market, which is why it is called an estimate. Charging $85 more a night is not an estimate it’s not even In the ball park. Even with a contract they told me if I didn’t like it I could waste my time and take them to court. I’ll do them one better, I’ll share this story. This behavior is not only unprofessional, it's unethical. When a business accepts a deposit, they are entering into a contract. To go back on that without proper justification undermines trust and shows a lack of respect for patrons. Campsites should be a place of transparency and integrity—especially when travelers make plans, arrange transportation, and often come with families or groups relying on those plans. Unfortunately, this location failed on that front. We’ve been to this campsite before when it was a KOA. We had enjoyed it so much we decided to return only to find they are no longer a KOA. Maybe this explains the lack of customer service and regards for customer satisfaction. I strongly urge potential guests to get everything in writing and be cautious when booking. Better yet, choose a campsite that values honesty and respects its customers enough to honor its agreements. Your peace of mind, time, and money deserve better.

We rv here and rented a premium site with ocean views. Our site was lovely with table, fire pit, barbecue and chairs for six. The site came with full hookup but no tv. We didn't miss the tv because we spent most of our time outside.

Costanoa, RV camp grounds is clean and beautiful. You can also rent little cabins for extra family. The landscape is beautiful and clean. There’s a lighthouse around there, the ocean is breathtaking and clean. We love that place!! We move an hour farther but it’s not a big deal when you love rving. LOL!!!

We used the KOA RV campground. Expensive and is considered a bougie campsite but worth it. Only downside is super close to your neighbors. Also check, the do have a dog policy that doesn't permit certain breeds. Great views. Beach isn't easily accessible either. Many don't allow dogs. We still love it though being close to home so it's not a long drive.

Nice restaurant and bar on-site. I would probably not stay here gain because of the staff, they are very rude. For an RV spot that we paid $220 per night for, we would expect more space between sites.

This is such a gem. We stayed in the canvas tents for 2 nights. We went in December so it was very chilly but the electric blanket kept us warm. The sunsets were stunning and the coastal views were breathtaking. I can't wait to come back!

The Costanoa/Santa Cruz North KOA is the 64th stop and we stayed for 7 nights. If you are on a tight budget or looking to save money, this is not the place for you and is the most expensive park for us to date. But I have to say that this is one of the best KOAs we have stayed so far. Just over an hour from San Francisco and 25 minutes from Santa Cruz, you are in an idyllic setting about a quarter mile off the Pacific Coast Highway and have views and sounds of the ocean from the park. Older growth pine and eucalyptus trees, great landscaping, coastal trails, light houses, and a myriad of activities for families (on the weekend off-season). Sites are nicely laid out and there is space between you and your neighbor. Some nice grass areas including the dog park. Initially, leveling was an issue as it was off 4 degrees to the front of the rig. Have not used the facilities other than the washer/dryers – only knock is how few there are. Have not interacted with many of the staff but the registration couple is friendly and the maintenance staff and house keeping always smile and wave. Would recommend this park and rate it a 4.5. The public wifi was weak except mid-day. During peak times, it was a struggle to pull up emails and basic social media. There is no T-Mobile service at all. Verizon 3.4 down/0.1 up at 5:45 pm. WiFi 0.74 down 0.14 up. For streaming, used a Verizon jet pack with an antennae booster and worked adequately.

Oh man. Third is tough. The KOA itself is amazing. We came out from Denver and ended up getting a cabin and a camp site. The father in law had the camp site while the kids and I had the cabin. What ever you do, do not drive across the KOA to offload the family unless you want the security on you about having 2 vehicles at a camp site. I understand that you are trying to maintain a great property but my 2 kids are under 4 y/o but when I cant even drop the kids off without being harassed, it took the vibe right away. Then security was giving a friend of ours a hard time about his converted camper. They questioned whether it was a true camper. It was, they eventually let him in. Then, the next morning, wouldnt you know it, good ol security came cruising up in their fancy little security golf cart and started harassing our friend AGAIN asking if it was a legitimate camper. Come on, he already checked in and went through one rough of what felt like interrogations, now he had to go through it a second time. I would love to come back again, but the way security had it out for our group, we will be passing by and not stopping. Sad because it is such a great property.

Always a beautiful location, nice weather. The website says activities were open but it seems like the activities are only open on weekends so don't plan on renting bikes or joining yoga unless you're there on a weekend. The website calendar isn't updated and we weren't able to get much info while there. Loved the mobile bar cart!
