Sawtooth/Riverside
Overview
Sawtooth/Riverside RV Park offers a front-row seat to some of Idaho's most dramatic and untouched landscapes. Situated directly along the banks of the Salmon River, this park provides a unique blend of essential comforts and rugged natural beauty. It serves as a quiet, welcoming basecamp for those looking to explore the vast Sawtooth National Recreation Area without sacrificing the convenience of full utility hookups in a high-altitude mountain setting.
Location & Surroundings
The park is perfectly positioned at the edge of Stanley, Idaho, a town famous for its jagged peaks and incredibly pristine alpine air. Guests are surrounded by the towering Sawtooth Mountains, which provide a stunning and jagged backdrop for morning coffee or evening sunsets. The immediate proximity to the Upper Salmon River allows for peaceful water views and easy access to the riverbanks, creating a tranquil atmosphere dominated by the soothing sounds of flowing water and rustling pines.
Amenities & Park Features
Despite its remote mountain location, the park is well-equipped for modern RVers seeking reliability. It features full hookup sites that accommodate both 30 and 50-amp electrical needs, alongside essential water and sewer connections. Visitors have access to on-site laundry facilities and clean restrooms with hot showers, which are highly valued after a long day of backcountry exploration. The park also provides wireless internet access, helping travelers stay connected with the outside world while nestled deep within the Idaho wilderness.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Adventure is never far away when staying in the heart of the Sawtooths. Many travelers head to the nearby Redfish Lake for scenic boating, mountain swimming, or hiking the extensive network of surrounding trails. The area is also a premier destination for world-class fly fishing and exhilarating whitewater rafting on the Salmon River. For those seeking a slower pace, the local natural hot springs offer a unique way to soak in the scenery, while the nearby town of Stanley provides charming local eateries and expert mountain outfitters.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal match for dedicated outdoor enthusiasts who want a comfortable and reliable home base while exploring the Idaho backcountry. It is particularly well-suited for river lovers and anglers who appreciate being just steps from the water’s edge. Because it offers full hookups in a region where many mountain campgrounds are strictly primitive, it remains a top choice for long-term travelers and families who prefer the reliability of modern RV conveniences amidst a wild, high-altitude landscape.

This lodge offers you the tranquility and serenity you are looking for. Listening to the river right outside your window is magical, and the rooms are well stocked and with comfy beds. The bathrooms have been updated and are outstanding! The staff is warm and welcoming and it is a great place for a cold weather retreat to get away from it all.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The location is absolutely breathtaking. We could hear the river from our room, and the view was peaceful and relaxing. Check in was simple, the beds were very comfortable, and the room was spotless. We can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely gorgeous location and room. Super comfy for sure! We've stayed here multiple times in multiple rooms and have always been impressed. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great place to stay with beautiful views in beautiful Stanley. We are looking forward to our next visit

A clean, quiet place to relax. We attended an October wedding. Views are gorgeous of course, with your back door opening up to a view of the salmon river right over the balcony backdropped by a ranch and mountains. Bathroom and kitchenette were slightly dated, but very clean. Bed linens were fresh and cozy (they spent some money in this department). Bathroom was updated and water was Hot! Staff was cordial and responsive. Parking lot litter free. Would stay here again.

We were there celebrating an anniversary and loved that we could find a dog friendly place. The room felt rustic but had all the amenities and a comfy bed. We fixed a meal in our room the first night since late arrival and that night the star lite sky did not disappoint! Service was great and everyone was so friendly and we loved the gift shop and coffee. Short drives to both lakes with the Sawtooth Mountains made for a close and breathtaking adventure. We will be back!
