Stayed at the BP2 backpacking site for the weekend. It was overcast, rainy, and wet all weekend, but I still had a good time. Camp site was spacious, with plenty of room for multiple tents if you want to go backpacking with friends, and trees for hammocks. Also had a storm shelter and bear vault for food. Hiking trails are great. Highly recommend the Chase Point trail. 10/10 would go there again.

Spent 4th of July weekend tent camping at the Chase Point Campground. Despite the monsoon that went through on the 4th, we had a great time. Really enjoyed how this park had boats to rent out. We ended up renting two canoes and took the dogs & kids across the way to Chase Point. We also spent time down at the beach, which was surprising deep and wasn't overly weedy. The trials we did get to walk on where very nice. The office has lots of goodies and had plenty of firewood ($8) & 5 lb bags of ice ($4) available all the time. Boat rentals were $15 (all day) and came with life jackets and oars. There was a vault bathroom near our campsite which was one of the nicer vault toilets I've used. The shower/bathroom facilities in the middle of the campground were VERY nice and I really appreciated that they had a station for washing dishes outside the building!! Our site had a very friendly and not shy red squirrel. We also saw lots of fireflies and got to enjoy the stars & Northern lights!! Would highly recommend this park! My only negative was that the campsites were VERY rocky, so we couldn't get drink holders into it and had to use a real hammer to get our tent stakes in.

Wonderful park. It was very well maintained with clean, up-to-date facilities. The lake has incredibly clear water and many shallow areas, making it great for kayaks. The hike out to Chase Point was a fun jaunt, not too challenging.

Beautiful park with stunning views! Hiking trails are great, most electric campsites are pull throughs, and there is a rental place for boats and kayaks if you don't have your own! Also has the newly upgraded bathrooms with the individual shower stalls!

Very scenic part with great up north lake views. Park has some very nice large pines. Limited trails but very spectacular in this smaller park . Highlight is the Lake with its boardwalk and boat accesses. The main campground is very shaded but looks a little cramped in places but is right along the Lake with many boat docks. The back campground is nice and right next to the day use area. The Ranger Tower is out of service, unfortunately.

Beautiful park with a lot to do. We love to hike and there are plenty of trails. I even rented a canoe and went fishing. Didn't catch anything. The only downside was the couple next door that was constantly fighting and a family with s screaming, crying child that never quit. It was not peaceful at all at my campsite. My dog and I also checked out a bear seminar that was very informative. I definitely recommend.

A hidden gem. The hike/paddle in sites are amazing. There is a little town not far away that gives a fun look into the history of the area. Be sure to bring a kayak, or rent one.

Beautiful area, amazing star gazing. Not too crowded. The chase point trail is so cool. Fun to paddle out on the lake to see loons and beavers (rentals available at very reasonable rates). Swim area is small but water is clear ( it's fun to see all the sun fish follow you). We stayed at the lodge campground and enjoyed the hot showers and wooded campsites. It's a long drive from St Paul but so cool.

I had read other reviews commenting on how great the staff at this park are, and man can I confirm it!! I was camping at one of the water access sites (I had kayaked in), when severe thunderstorms, a tornado watch, and a flash flood watch came into effect. (Both were later upgraded to "warnings.") I called the office to get their advice on if I was best to shelter in place, or if I should attempt to hike the ~4 miles out of my site in the midst of the thunderstorm. Instead, the staff kindly offered to evacuate me and all my gear by boat. Sandy at the office and Tim the assistant manager were both incredibly helpful, communicative, and calm during the entire ordeal, and I am so grateful to them and the rest of the team! After I had been evacuated, they recommended a spot to stay nearby, and offered to store my kayak for the night, since I had plans to return the next day when the weather improved. The next day, I came back from my kayaking day trip to find that my car battery had died, and again the park staff were super responsive and helpful. I'm so grateful for their support! Apart from the rough weather, I really enjoyed my time in the park! The backpacking/water access sites on the main lakes are just gorgeous, and I was stunned by some incredible nature encounters--bald eagles, loons, beavers, woodpeckers, warblers, and more! I can't wait to return for another (hopefully less eventful) trip to Scenic State Park!

Great park for swimming, camping and hiking. My favorite hiking area is the ridge where you're up high looking down on the lake... Beautiful

Love this park. Senic describes it perfectly. Bring plenty of bug spray as they can be a bit vicious

Only complaint was the bugs. Amazing private camping and lots of room to canoe around. So beautiful. Sad to leave!

Beautiful with a fresh coat of snow. The hiking club trail could be done with good boots, I wasn't sure so snowshoed it
