Scheffel's Hideaway Campground Two Rivers, Wisconsin We reserved a site at Scheffel's Hideaway Campground based on a comment from a camping acquaintance that the area was beautiful, friendly, and cooler than average. Since we had never been to that part of Wisconsin, we decided to give it a try. We've been full-time RVers for 14 years and can honestly say this is our favorite spot out of at least two or three hundred other campgrounds including everything from boondocking to resorts. Most sites are larger than usual and, the grounds are immaculate, as are the restrooms and two laundry rooms, which are handicapped friendly. The roads, while unpaved are of a fine shell or gravel and hard packed so these are easy to traverse using a walker. There are miles of popular, well-kept walking/bicycle paths nearby going from Point Rawley to the north, past the park and on to Manitowoc to the south. The owners of the park, Tammie and Paul, love the park and are working tirelessly at making it more beautiful every year. There is a lovely pond, lots shrubs and flowers as well as bat houses, bird houses and feeders (we watched goldfinches as we ate dinner several times), whimsical decorations large and small scattered throughout which are changed with the seasons. A number of sites have shade, and most of those without full grown trees have young trees about 15 feet tall or so and will provide more shade every year. Guidelines for the park are clear and reasonable: guests are asked to respect the space and people which is of course, simple common courtesy. All-in-all, this is is our idea of the perfect combination of a natural and well-kept park and friendly people. We are looking forward to our next, longer visit next year. Thank you for a wonderful three months, Tammie and Paul.

We spent the month of August at Scheffel’s Hideaway Campground in our 36 ft motorhome and had a fantastic time. This campground is very quiet, clean and spacious. The sites are large with crushed limestone pads and beautifully kept green grass yards with picnic tables and fire rings with grates. Wood is available right at the campground. The bath houses, laundry, pet area and playground are clean and picked up regularly. Having the pet area away from the playground is a plus, you know your kids or pets can play with no worries. The bike trails are easily accessible for all ages to use. The owners, Paul and Sandy, are very kind, attentive, and hard workers. This campground really is a gem and we will definitely be back.

Just spent 2 months at Scheffel’s Hideaway and loved it. The owners work tirelessly to keep it beautiful. The landscaping and surrounding woods are very pretty. It is a small quiet park (around 50 sites) and all spots are very level and have water and electricity. Many also have sewer hookup. We booked late so couldn’t get full hookups but the roadways between sites are wide so it was no big deal for us to haul the trailer over to the dump station every couple weeks to dump our tanks. The owner also offered to bring over a small honey wagon so we wouldn’t have to move. It is right on the Rawley Point bike/hike trail which will take you to Neshotah beach in Two Rivers (2 miles) or the lovely beach and lodge at Point Beach State Park (3.5 miles) the other direction. The grocery store in Two Rivers is just over 2 miles and there are many events in town in summer and fall. We’ll definitely be back!

This a fantastic RV campground. Location is nested within a forest just adjacent to the state park just two miles north of Twin Rivers, Wisconsin. The property is kept immaculately with groomed trees and flowers. The restrooms and showers are kept spotless. Hospital spotless! The owners are fantastic. Upon pulling in on the property the owner approached us and escorted us to our spot. Then he took the time to guide us backing into the campsite which was absolutely level. I mentioned we would like some firewood and he delivered it promptly. I highly recommend this campground.

We just stayed here for our first time and I’d say that it truly is one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed at. The owners live onsite and are very friendly and helpful. The sites are big and clean. The roads are smooth with no potholes. The landscaping is excellent and well maintained. It has to be the most quiet campground we have ever stayed at and we really appreciated that. The owners even gave us two bundles of wood free because I am a veteran! We will definitely be back!

Nice clean RV campground, friendly staff, great people. Close to the state park, has trails that connect, and can walk all the way to the lake. Stayed about 2 weeks for the Point Beach nucular outage, just about 15 minutes from the plant.

Very well maintained campground! Tammy is so welcoming. Quiet. Close to town. It's about a mile walk to Lake Michigan along the trails that run behind the campground through the state park. Bathrooms/showers and laundry were clean. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back.

We travel all summer and this was the best stay of our summer! Beautifully well kept, quiet, very nice sites, impeccably clean rest rooms, showers, and laundry; and very accommodating owners. Good location, too! Close to many things to do and very nice to have a restaurant & bar wiring walking distance! Two Rivers beach, only a mile or so away, is one of the nicest we saw in the area! We'll definitely stay again if we get back to the area!

Scheffel's Hideaway was recommended by a co-worker as a great campground to check out. We came simply for a quiet campground as a get-away before going back to school in the fall. This campground was a real gem. The bathrooms were spotless, sites were easy to back into, gravel pads took no leveling, and a beautifully landscaped environment. When I placed the reservation, the owner suggested to bring bikes and gave me a few ideas of what was available in the area. Having never camped in this area, we really appreciated her input. We will definitely return.
