Schildberg Recreation Area sits just northwest of Atlantic. It consists of 3 beautiful lakes perfect for fishing, enjoy hiking around the lakes with beautiful scenery of native grasses, flowers and wildlife to look at. Okay for an overnight, quite a few sites appear to be long term and are not well cared for. There is a little lake with a walking path and a nice dock that has a large, covered area and a canoe/kayak launch facility. Unfortunately there were a half dozen goose carcasses close by.
