Scott County Park is a beautiful well-kept park it is only a few minutes off of Highway 61 and it’s about 10 minutes North from interstate 80. They have four RV areas. One wilderness camping area and two other tent areas. They do not allow firewood brought into the park unless it is professionally wrapped. Or bought from a store. They have play grounds for young children located all over the park, they also have a big swimming pool. They have mountain biking trails and horse trails located in this park. They also have five shelters in this park that are available to rent out. There are three cabins that you can rent. They have a nice pond for fishing or kayaking also. They also have a dock specially designed for launching kayaks into the water. They have a brand new sidewalk 9/10 of a mile around the lake for walking or wheelchairs there are a couple of slight hills. Not sure how much difficulty it would be to go up for someone in a wheelchair. Also check out their 18 hole golf course. Stop and take a break from driving have a picnic or just sit back in some lawn chairs and relax or go for a nice walk

This park is HUGE! There are several campgrounds tucked throughout the park. From concrete RV sections to primitive tucked in woods. They have a AMAZING Pool with splash area and slides. The land is so clean- from prairies of wildflowers with birds to deep woods with raccoon’s lol. Make sure you go on the trails. So pretty with streams etc. (my dog LOVED that part! ) There are a couple of ponds and I saw lots of people fishing. You can take kayaks on as well. It’s fairly large- toss between pond or lake. Shower houses are clean and the hosts are all amazing to help you with anything. Want to feel safe? DNR are thick! They drive around all day to keep us safe. So much to do. Highly recommend.

Scott County Park is a beautiful park with lots to do. They have lots of picnic areas with tables and grills. Nice hiking trails. the campground is kept up and the bathrooms are clean. We have seen Deer almost daily and we saw a beaver, so cool.

I love this park. Everything from the trails to the amenities to the roads are well maintained. You can hike on a trail for hours and not see another person. It's really nice. Dogs on leash are allowed as well as biking and horseback riding. There's a golf course and water park. The open/closed status of the trails is posted as you drive it. Overall, it's a really good place to go.

This visit was about checking the park out for future camping site. Wow is all I can say. One of the nicest parks I've been too but then my world is pretty small lol. Update.................. Finally made it back for camping. Spent 4 days and enjoyed what this park had to offer. We had some excitement on the second evening. Tornado touched down just North of the park. 80 mph gusts in the park. Not only is this one of the nicest state parks I've been too, the bad weather showed me the staff in action. I've been camping during bad weather before, but the staff at this park knocked my socks off with their quick reactions and professionalism. They went above and beyond to get us safe and keep us in loop as to what was going on, hats off to staff! I can't say enough good about this park. 1000+ acres of park, multiple campgrounds ranging from full hookup sites to full on primitive. Fish were even biting :). Large swimming pool with water slides. Don't pass this place up if looking for a nice park to spend the weekend in. For the bird watchers, this park is the nesting area of the rare Led Zep Ramble On. I could ramble on some more but I think you get the point.

Great area with lots of playgrounds for kids. Tons of hiking, biking & horse trails. Bathrooms & all other buildings are very clean & well maintained. Make sure you enter the south entrance, not only to check in but all the signs for each campground faces that direction. Camp sites are paved & very nice in the Bald Eagle & Woodside campgrounds. Definitely ready to stay here again.
