Sebago Lake

Overview

Sebago Lake is a premier destination for RV travelers in Southern Maine, offering a classic New England lakefront experience. Located primarily in Naples and Casco, this glacial lake is known for its crystal-clear water and expansive shoreline. Whether staying at the expansive state park or one of the nearby private resorts, visitors find a blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunity. It is a hub for summer vacations where the scent of pine needles and the sound of lapping waves define the daily atmosphere.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the heart of the Lakes Region, Naples serves as the gateway to Sebago Lake. The surrounding landscape is characterized by dense forests of pine and hemlock, with the Songo River connecting Sebago to Brandy Pond via a historic hand-operated lock. The terrain is relatively flat near the water but rolls into gentle hills as you move inland. Travelers will enjoy the scenic drives along Route 302, which provides easy access to local supply stores, gear rentals, and lakeside dining options.

Amenities & Park Features

RV sites in the Sebago Lake area often feature spacious wooded lots that offer a sense of privacy amidst the trees. Many facilities in Naples provide essential hookups, while the state park offers a more rustic feel with shared water access and convenient dump stations. High-end resorts in the area boast sandy private beaches, boat slips, and organized family activities. Common amenities include communal fire pits, playground areas, and well-maintained bathhouses designed to accommodate the influx of summer visitors looking for a comfortable stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Water-based recreation is the primary draw, with boating and kayaking topping the list of activities. Anglers frequent the lake for landlocked salmon and lake trout, while swimmers enjoy the gradual entries at the public beaches. For those looking to stay on land, the area offers several miles of wooded hiking trails and sandy stretches perfect for sunbathing. A short drive into downtown Naples allows visitors to walk the Causeway, where they can find miniature golf, seaplane rides, and the famous Songo River Queen II paddleboat.

This was a very well kept campground with lots of fancy amenities—water, bathrooms, ice and wood for sale. I think you can even pay for wifi. Easy lake access as well and the lake was huge!! Keep in mind that this is not very secluded, campsites are close together, and you will be surrounded by people. Still, everyone was very nice and it wasn’t loud. We still felt like we had our own space. Every site has a fire pit, some have hookups. Most are drive in but there were a few hike in sites that were more private. Lots of people were there with RVs, which isn’t my personal favorite but seems very common here in the summertime (we camped here in august).

Wow!!! I use to go there every summer as a kid, best campground ever we would stay 2 weeks I’m 66. Sooo, it’s been 57 years since I was there. The ratings are still high after all these years. I’m so happy you are still open.

This is good family-friendly campground, especially for beginners. My wife and I were nervous since it was our first time camping but after staying a few days, we enjoyed the experience and would do it again. What’s really nice is that they have a beautiful lake and amenities such as a dishwashing station and trash disposals. We appreciated how they have bathrooms and showers. They are not 5-star but it’s good and cleaned daily(you are camping, so it is a luxury to have a bathroom). There are daddy-long-legs all over the place but they are hardly an annoyance. We went during late summer so that could contribute to how we didn’t deal with a lot of critters. When you prepare well, camping here can be a fun trip with friends. Overall, we’d come back

This place is terrible. The campsites are on top of one another. If you are tent camping, all through the night you're going to smell somebody's campfire that they didn't bother to put out. If reviewers write this is a great place, it's because they attach their house to a huge truck and park it where they have one of those ridiculous loud crappy boats. People let their rude kids run wild. Loud obnoxious jet skis and boats constantly cover the lake... it smells of diesel. Tourists took a beautiful place and destroyed it. The staff are amazing, I don't know how they put up with these people. I will never come back here.

Have always loved camping here for the week of July 4th. Been coming for about 7 years in a row. But this year the atmosphere was completely different. The rangers were all over the campers and made everyone feel watched. They did not allow sparklers on the beach like every other year I have been there which ruined the evening for my children. They dispersed every gathering I attended before quiet hours even began. New rules have been put in place about visitors as well. One of the female rangers at the front gate was also very rude. I'm disappointed that my beloved campground has come to this.
