My wife and I have stayed at all 6 of the state campgrounds numerous times over 25 years. Our recent stay at Camp Three was perfect. Camp host, Gavin, greeted us within minutes of arriving at our site, went over the usual rules regarding noise and fire curfews, and expressed his availability with any other concerns we might have during our stay. He additionally alerted us to the recent bear activity and made clear the demand for a clean campsite, proper food storage, and required garbage disposal procedures. As host, all signage was clear and visible, restrooms kept very clean (morning, noon, and night), and Gavin made himself visible numerous times throughout each day overseeing that campsites and facilities were kept clean and ready for arrivals. He was never an annoyance, but always available and ready to help with anything. Camp Three has numerous sites adjacent to the river, but nearly all of the sites will accommodate a 4 person-tent, and campsite driveways seem sufficiently large enough for an average travel trailer. The site we had, definitely needs a picnic table replacement, but as well as the grounds were kept, that wouldn't fall under the camp host's duty though. Over many, many visits, we have had numerous different camp hosts. Some were neglectful of their duties, constantly unavailable, and even a couple of angry personalities, but Gavin couldn't have been a better example of what a camp host should be. Managing and assisting the campers well, but never a bother. Great experience.

It was beautiful camp, but due to regulation we were not be able to make fire so no camp fire no charcoal fire ( only propane avail ) Was pretty sad it’s not their fault. Also it was very windy so it was just rough time for us

Clean pit toilets, there are nearby water spigots. Not all sites have their own access to the river. Most spots have no shade so bring a pop up. No cell service for t mobile. Kernville has all you need 5 minutes away. If you like gold panning this is a good location.

I had a great time in the group site. It was nicely secluded, lovely river white noise, new fire pits, restrooms were clean...and the hosts were fantastic! Will come again!

Had a blast my first time camping here. The grounds were well kept, and there was lots of space for us to pitch our tents. The porta potties were extremely clean. I was very pleased. The only issue we had while we were there were fire ants and the camp host came by and handled that for us. Firewood was available for purchase by the camp host. We stayed on the group lot and there was plenty of space for us to sit and grill, multiple fire pits. You could hear the river at night and see the moon and stars bright in the sky. It was really beautiful and I wouldn’t mind camping there again.
