Been camping here for the better part of 25 years. Almost always get the same site. This is my home away from home. Our normal site #19 got burned in a fire in the past year, very disappointing, but I know it'll come back.

Nice campground. Have to deal with the stickers but other than that nice quiet and secluded for some spots and very exposed for others. River front spots are prime.

It’s very quiet, and it’s the best night sky I’ve ever seen. The campsites are spread out enough to where you probably won’t hear any generators from neighbors. Definitely coming back.

If I didn't get heat stroke that place would have been way cool. The river was fun and we saw bears 🐻! But worth checking out!

And incredible river access,. The Gan post was kind caring and very helpful on directions and everything going on around the neighborhood.

One of the best campsites on the Kern river. Less than 10 minutes away from Kernville where there are plenty restaurants, a brewery, winery and taverns. Awesome place to camp or book a room at the many motels/b & b type places, some right off the river...

It’s always a great time with my family when we camp here. I would like to say if you have more than one tent stay away from sites 11, 12, and 23 those are the ones I’ve had a bad experience with so far not a lot of room and lots of rocks. The camp host here are always super nice and helpful. Just an FYI if you score a campsite near the water it does not mean that you get your own personal beach for your stay, any spots near the river whether near your site or not are for all campers. It’s common sense cause where would the campers from the sites on the other side of the river swim?? We have had 2 experiences where we were confronted by people claiming that’s their area they “paid for”. If someone tries to do that to you please get assistance from the host with explaining to those people that they don’t own the river. Other than that it’s always a nice, fun, relaxing experience.

Nice campsite on the Kern river . Quiet during the week, parties on the weekend. Not too loud though, just crowded.

Nice little hideaway. The should if the river being so close is peaceful. Sites are spread out a decent amount. No cell signal at all. 😁

Very quiet and relaxing area. Camp park ranger is very friendly and helpful guy. Best part was the swim in the river.
