Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Though designed primarily as a stopover, the plaza is a short drive from the natural beauty of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, where visitors can explore scenic trails and waterfalls. Outdoor enthusiasts might also appreciate the proximity to West Branch State Park, which features a large reservoir and expansive recreation areas for boating and hiking. For a taste of local culture, the historic streets of Mantua and the nearby university town of Kent offer unique local boutiques and diverse dining options just a few miles off the turnpike.
Who This Park Is Best For

Very nice and clean. Has all you need for travel.

This place is an absolute dump. All the restaurants are garbage chain places that serve you grease from the Cisco truck. That's if the restaurants are even open, most of them are closed by eight or 9 PM. Good luck getting coffee, you won't be needing that past eight or 9 PM either apparently. If you do manage to get an employee that is working at one of the seldomly open establishments in this rest stop you'll be treated to an attitude that can be described generously as "surly"Better still their convenience store is an absolute blip with limited selection and prices higher than the PA turnpike tolls! Drive another 30 minutes and stop at Loves. RIP to the former amazing system of rest stops that Ohio used to offer. Corporate consumerism working for, not you.

Ohio has the best plazas but this specific one actually has healthy food at freshens. Today my husband and I were getting lunch there during our break and I want to shout out the three ladies working! There was a jerk yelling at the lady making his food and she held it together very well, and the other two ladies rushed around trying to get the other orders finished. Please treat fast food/retail workers with respect. They all deserve better pay for the crap they put up with. Anyways I recommend eating at freshens! Food is as healthy as you can get without making it yourself. I got the Mexican rice bowl.
