We stayed here 2 nights end of August to 1 September. This campground is easy to access, located right off CA-16. After a long run down the Cassiar Highway, we chose to stay two nights to regroup. Check-in was friendly and efficient, and we were offered Sites 23 or 32 since we requested space to put our patio down. The owner, Cathy, recommended Site 32 at the back of the park, which worked out perfectly. Backing into Site 32 was simple, and the FHUs (30 AMP) were well positioned on the long pad that backs up to the woods. Water pressure was solid. While there are trees throughout the campground, we were still able to get a good sky shot for Starlink. Cell connectivity was decent—3 bars on Verizon via Telus and 2 bars on T-Mobile. Campground WiFi was adequate for email and light browsing, with a 10.3 Mbps download reading. Sites were reasonably spaced for a private CG, but the standout feature—and a big reason we chose to stay—was the nearly one-acre off-leash dog area. Our 16-month-old pup had plenty of room to run and burn energy. Attention to detail is clearly a priority here: our newly painted picnic table was even leveled with blocks! Shady Rest is a well-kept property and absolutely deserving of the positive ratings it receives.

What can I say about Shady Rest that hasn't already been said? Not much. The camp hosts make you feel like you are longtime friends from the moment you arrive. Readily going out of their way to find information, or anything else you need. The park itself? Spotless. Clean, raked, and covered tent sites with a picnic table. Uncovered options as well All RV sites are equally clean. Firepits are provided and are dug out and ready for use. The onsite laundry is coin operated and works as it should. The bathrooms are heated and have a shower, they too are in immaculate condition. Free wi-fi that reaches throughout the park. They sell giant bins of firewood for 10$ onsite, a better deal then i have seen anywhere else. This RV park is exactly what any RV park should strive to be. Can't reccomend enough.
