This is a family campground geared to seasonal and transient sites. Lots of activities to participate in. A large pool, rec hall, mini put, pool table, game nights and convenience store. Nearby wineries, walking trails and close to nearby town full of amenities.

I want to respond to some of the negative reviews I’ve read about Shangri-La, because my family’s experience here was completely different. We came to Shangri-La this summer while we were looking for a new home in Niagara. We thought it would be fun to camp with our kids while we searched. We rolled in late at night with our old, beat-up trailer, four kids, a dog, and a cat. By morning, we were definitely noticed! The People (Seasonal & Elderly Campers) A lot of reviews say that the seasonal and elderly campers are judgmental or unfriendly toward families and kids. I can say with complete honesty that this was not our experience at all. The older folks in the park were nothing but kind, helpful, and welcoming. They watch out for the kids, they wave as you go by, and they make you feel part of the community. On our very first week, when we were struggling with our ancient trailer’s air conditioning, one of the seasonal gentlemen came right over and not only helped us, but actually gave us a spare AC unit for our roof. That is the kind of kindness you’ll find here. Not once did we feel judged for our trailer, our kids, or our situation. Instead, we found a true family environment. Bathrooms The bathrooms are cleaned multiple times a day by a man named Frenchy, who works tirelessly to keep them in good condition. If there are problems, it’s because some guests can be, frankly, disrespectful. During our stay, when a urinal pipe started leaking, it was fixed within an hour of being reported. If it weren’t for the way some guests treat the bathrooms, there wouldn’t be any issues at all. The men’s side was usually fine, and the women’s side only had problems when guests made messes. My only suggestion would be maybe a new shower head, but overall, the bathrooms are maintained far more than most campgrounds I’ve visited. Pool & The Hill Yes, the hill down to the pool is a bit of a climb back up — but it’s nowhere near as bad as some reviews make it sound. First off, almost everyone in the park has a golf cart, and people are more than happy to offer a ride. There’s also a staircase leading up to the seasonal section if you prefer that. The pool itself was open, clean, and a great spot for families. Complaining about the hill feels more like nitpicking than a real issue. Staff & Management The staff here are absolutely amazing. They don’t just run the office — they go out of their way to help people with trailer problems, answer questions, and keep things running smoothly. The management and owner do so much for families, especially the kids. During our stay they hosted events like “Pirates Day and Christmas in July” and even a petting zoo day. Just as we were leaving they were doing a Halloween for the kids. The store and office staff are incredibly friendly, always helpful, and wonderful with children. My kids looked forward to visiting them, which says a lot. They really made a difference and my kids will not forget them. The Environment & Atmosphere The campground is well cared for, and you can tell the owners and staff take pride in it. From the moment you drive up, you see how much work goes into keeping it nice. There are three playgrounds, a pool, access to the Bruce Trail, and lots of other things for kids to do. The community is friendly — people help each other out, but if you’d rather keep to yourself, that’s just as easy. As for the so-called “shotgun sounds” that a few reviews mentioned: honestly, they’re nothing to worry about. You might hear a faint popping in the distance once in a while, usually toward the end of summer, but it’s barely noticeable. Definitely not disruptive, and certainly not the dramatic noise some reviews make it out to be. Final Thoughts... We would really like to thank Jason and his staff for the incredible experience. Our family had a wonderful summer here. We felt welcomed, supported, and safe. We had fun, the kids loved it, and we left with great memories. We’ll absolutely be back next year — hopefully with a newer trailer!

Well its not a full hookup . She lie Also The Washroom and shower are disgusting . The pool is big hill to go My mother cannot go to the pool with the wheelchair They have no entertainment for kids The website does not look like that park. This is less family campground and more trailer park. Yes, there is a family theme, one of pirates however all I saw were drunks....from sunup to sundown people were throwing back booze and driving golf carts around. We won't be back ever. I gave the rooms five stars as we brought our own trailer.

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) recently stayed in cabin #2 for 3 nights and were very disappointed on our arrival at the state of our accomodations. The photos of the cabin from the website do not represent how they currently look. The cabins are much older than the pictures. The cabin was filthy; the door and table were covered in grime, there was garbage and food under the bed and it smelled awful. It appears to be more of a "party cabin" then a family one. The fire pit was designed for cooking only and not for a campfire. The bathrooms and showers were also very dirty. The pool was HUGE which was great. However the bathrooms there were also smelly and dirty. The kids had a ton of fun on the giant pirate ship playground. And it was nice the ping pong and mini putt were free. Overall I would not recommend this campground to families and I would never go back.
