This is not a hotel. Its a camp ground located near Shasta lake. Decent place for camping. 5 minute drive to the lake. Wild black berries growing everywhere. Deer walk through the camp ground. Had showers and a pool. Each space had a BBQ pit and fire pit. Staff very friendly. Only issue was every once in a while a train would come by. Otherwise its camping in paradise

First time coming to this site. My boys and I used the camp site and had a blast! There were hot showers, a swimming pool (very clean) on camp site spouts for water, and clean port-o-jon's at the far tent sites. My only warning is to try and not sleep under a pine tree bc the squirrels chew off the green pinecones and they fall hard in the early AM. Luckily no one was hit accept the tent. The train tracks run along behind the camp site but my boys and I love trains and they were kept so busy having fun that they slept through the night and so did I. It is a very convenient location if you do not want to travel far for camping, 30 minutes from Redding and not that expensive. There is a gas station, pub and restaurant near the camp site as well as an on site store where you check in. Also the lake is easily accessible past the camp site. If you go to the lake, there is no shade so bring a canopy. At night and early AM the grounds keepers empty the trash cans to prevent critters from making a mess. I learned a lot about the site before it became a camping grounds, it was an orchard. I picked some delicious plum cherries and pears. My kiddos picked black berries and I made black berry pancakes for them and black berry infused water. We loved this site so much that we've decided to go in the fall as well. We are happy with the new ownership!

We stayed at the campground. Not a big site. Not exactly what I expected to be in nature since the campground is right next to the busy road and a railroad. You'll hear car traffic and the occasional freight train from early morning to even after midnight. If you are bothered by that noise, this is not for you. The restroom and shower is near the entrance. Otherwise, it's the portable potty. The staff there are very nice and they do maintain the grounds well. The site is a quick drive tho the lake to do boating activities.

I have never been told we had to check out of a camp site before. The owner pushed us out in a hurry for no one to be coming in. We were all packed up just sitting there talking with a friend that was staying and he told us we had to leave as others needed the spot. No body ever came and he let others stay til 5 before they left.

We stayed across the road at the USFS Lakeshore East Campground. We walked over here to check things out. The pool is closed, ostensibly for the season. The camp store was never open, maybe that is seasonal too. It's an older park and in disrepair. While they mow the grass and pick up trash, the general maintenance isn't getting done. Locks on bathrooms removed, signs falling down, lights that don't work. Pool fence is wobbly and the lock is missing so they just chain it up. Entrance sign is falling down. The store floods when it rains so instead of fixing the drainage they just put up sand bags. Feels like the kind of place where the owners have gotten old and tired and just aren't keeping things up. It's mostly long term residents here. There were lots of vacant sites for seasonal guest, but most would be hard to get into if you're over 25ft. Sites are squished up against one another with no privacy, just a gravel parking lot. Their web site says they have a boat dock but the campground is landlocked so no idea where the docks are. And there are train tracks running literally through the campground. Though they don't blow their horn it's still loud. And they don't take stuff to the dump. Everything that is old or broken is just piled up by the railroad tracks, including tires and old broken picnic tables. At 30feet I'd have a tough time with many of these sites. So, it would have to be an emergency for us to ever stop here. We visited Shasta Lake RV Resort, no overnight stay.
