Location & Surroundings

Situated just a short drive northeast of the city of Shawano, the park is nestled within a lush landscape defined by mature hardwoods and open, grassy areas. The primary attraction is the immediate proximity to the water, offering visitors refreshing breezes and expansive views of one of the state's largest inland lakes. The surrounding region features a charming blend of agricultural heritage and thick forests, creating a tranquil lakeside retreat that offers a peaceful escape from the faster pace of urban living while remaining close to modern conveniences.

The campground includes 96 individual sites, many of which are equipped with electric and water hookups to accommodate various RV sizes. Visitors have access to clean shower facilities, flush toilets, and a conveniently located sanitary dump station. The park's recreational features are extensive, designed to keep guests of all ages engaged throughout their stay:

  • A large sandy swimming beach paired with an adjacent playground area for children.
  • A multi-lane concrete boat launch that facilitates easy access for fishing and water sports.

Camped here for fire time. Very nice campground. Very friendly staff. Well maintained campground. Being our first time didn't now where to check in. They could use some signs directing campers. I helped two other groups that had same problem. All and all we had a great time here! Will be back!

Camped at the Shawano County Campground July 2025 - Site #1. Grounds were well kept and the staff was amazing. They are working from sun up to sun down. There is a small camp store for essentials and a wonderful snack bar with food and ice cream. Sites have water and electric. Firewood for sale in small shed. $5. There is a dump station. Would definitely return!

First time in this beautiful place, it is very clean and there are places to sit and eat, if you want a day to enjoy with your friends or family, this is the place, you can swim and enjoy your boat, there are bathrooms to change and shower, a place to read a book and relax, or just watch people enjoy this place, I give it 5 stars.

Pretty park with amazing lake views. As far as walking is concerned, there's not much to it. This place is mostly good as a wayside attraction, or to use as a public boat ramp. There are, however, a number of benches to take the view in from, as well as a volleyball court. Very pretty, but don't expect to find any trails here.
