Just stayed here for the first week in May. We got a double lot which was awesome! It has two separate electric plug ins and what made this campground real unique to any other one I have ever stayed at, was that each site had its own water spicket. (or at least I saw for the electric sites around us. We stayed at site 2 it was very nice) The hosts were so friendly and just did a few drive rounds during the day, so it never felt invasive. The man even graciously helped up with getting our camper on hitch when we had trouble. His wife (I'm assuming) gave us color packets for fires for the kiddos. Clean bathrooms and overall, just beautiful grounds with plenty of space and trees between sites. Couple tips.... Lock up your cooler at night, the racoons will pay you a visit at night. Had no service with T-Mobile. Friend with Verizon had great service. Bring cash to pay for site, firewood, and ice and be sure to bring small bills as there is no way to get smaller change

Can not rave any more about how nice this place is. The hosts are also very nice and do a great job keeping this place nice. They have working and hot showers and flushable toilets. There is more than 1 restroom location with flushing toilets and showers. Very dog friendly. For hikers or those not staying here they offer showers for $5 for non campers. The hosts are super nice. Be sure to not be rude and arrive before 930pm. The views and camp sites were all great. Good space and double lots are available. There are electric and non electric sites. Some also offer water hook up for rv's etc. This was very pleasant. We could fish a few steps from out site. We could easily hike from our site. Great rates too!

Beautiful, quiet campground with lots of nature and trees for shade. The managers and camp hosts are very friendly. Main bath house is very clean and well kept. Camp sites are clean and spacious. Definitely recommend this campground off the beaten path. Oh, and the beach is a nice feature as well!

Wonderfully woodsy campground located at the edge of Glendale lake. We tent camped but wanted a site with an electric hookup and access to showers. This was perfect. It was quiet and the sites were partially shaded by the woods and they had some sites with views of the lake. The electric sites were set up for more rv camping and were fully graveled. It rained while we were there but because of the tree canopy we didn't experience the full brunt of it and enjoyed the sounds as we stayed dry in the tent.

I have a couple of negatives but the wooded camping areas, the space between campers, and the beauty of the park out weighed them all. Negatives: cold showers all year round. Not ideal for cooler mornings and nights. Showering in warm afternoons is recommended but most people are hiking or swimming in the lake at that time. Poison ivy everywhere, however, it keeps people on the paths instead of invading the beauty of nature around. Need wider paths though so you don’t accidentally brush up against any. Campsites are small for the price of them. Campsites are all gravel, no dirt or grass, bring a mallet if you are tent camping. Positives: absolutely beautiful. Trees everywhere, shaded campsites, properly marked, easy to find, fire wood and ice for purchase on site (priced just right), tons of hiking nearby, bigger towns nearby for supply pick up or to get cell phone service, pet friendly, quiet time at 10 and management drives around to be sure of that. Would I go back? Only during warm months when cold showers don’t bother me lol.

Hot showers, plenty of bathrooms, clean, potable water all over the place, firewood, ice, children’s playground, primitive camping, private, plenty of hiking, fishing, kayaking, rock bluffs, plenty of wildlife, friendly people, lots of camping spots, great surrounding areas to visit, great hub to visit all around, lots of American history, Native American history, geological fault lines with volcanism and fossils around, lots of hills, mountain biking for tens of miles ( if you ride, this is the place to come!), horse back riding, open almost all year round, shelters for parties, beach for the summer, plenty of park space for picnics, quiet away from highways, drive in tent sites with parking spots, friendly camp host, 12 bucks for Primitive sites! I highly recommend this place for southern Illinois and probably the best site in a 100 mile radius! I have spent here many times and love the place!

We just spent 2 nights here. We liked the fact that the sites are first come first serve. So many campgrounds are almost all reservable on line now. We had site 14 and it had a view of the lake and access to the great hiking trail that I believe goes completely around the lake. Tree were so colorful in early Nov. We had water and electricity

What a beautiful campground. Clean, quiet, secluded. We had a great time during our 3 day stay. Will definitely be coming back.
