I camped at Shellbay Campground in a tent for four nights this summer with my family of five. My three kids had to sleep in the car until 1 AM one night, because that is when the blasting music, which included a live band, stopped at the graduation party a few hundred feet away. I was informed by a group of discontent RV campers that had huddled together that night that the property of the party, 114 Stagecoach Rd. (South Jersey Sunrooms) is the property of the daughter and son-in-law of the owner of Shellbay Campground. The owner confirmed this information the next morning, and was well aware that the party would take place there that night, and could have suggested that I stayed at a tent site further away. Aside from our troubles that night, one morning my kids got woken up by Steven the bulldog barking at us 10 feet in front of our tent, because there is a dog park right behind tent sites 638 and 637, which is deceitfully not shown on the map. When confronted about the dog park, the owner told me it is a spot for horses, but people take their dogs there sometimes. While I saw no horses, there was a steady stream of dogs. Regardless, if it's accessible to campers, it should be on the campground map. We also used gloves to pull up around 30 small poison ivy plants scattered around tent site 638, upon arrival, and upon departure found a mold with an approximately 4 inch radius growing on rotting wood buried underneath our tent, and had to clean mold off our tent. I had stayed at both Depot Travel Park (has city water) and Adventure Bound Campground the previous year, and would recommend either of them over Shellbay Campground - and they are both cheaper!

First off saying this place is very very clean. Very easy on the phone. And this is my first time camping and actually enjoyed it. Everything is close by. It’s pet friendly. And just a lot to do wish I stayed longer a weekend wasn’t enough but had so much fun here. Do it it’s very cute little place. Ps 25 cents for 4 mins for showering was a plus! Very hot water.

Just stayed here with a friend. Would definitely be back!!!! First of all yes it is a quiet place and some families stay here with kids. Mostly retired people with permanent sites. However, the 20 sites they do rent are nice size and reasonable in price for being close to Stone Harbor, Cape May, and Wildwood! Mix of shaded and some sun areas. Great looking pool, hot tube, and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. They have two little cabins that probably sleep family of four. The staff were family run and very nice!! Camp store brings me back to childhood memories of a typical camp store. Prices all around very respectable compared to most hotels. The staff were accommodating on our only needing one night but that was for a tent site. Cabins are 2-3 nights. Just bring cash and you will be a happy camper!!!

Permanent trailer Park. This place is not really set up for the weekend RV’er. They only accept cash payment, and the gate card we had was temperamental. The part that really got frustrating was when our next-door neighbor decided to pressure wash his permanent trailer on Sunday afternoon… Just when we wanted to enjoy a little peace and quiet. It would really be helpful if they could make a few more rules to try to accommodate those of us who do not have permanent RV sites.
