We stayed in the lodge and I'd personally avoid this property. They charge you if you'd like to have your room cleaned and my daughter got sick and threw up in our room during the stay. I cleaned it and called the front desk for fresh towels so we could shower and rinse off. They said I had to bring them to the main lobby if I wanted clean ones... We both smelled like vomit and needed a shower, so that would be embarassing. So for a business to have the audacity to try and sell us on a $100,000 timeshare (worth 20,000 points) and cram us into a small room, charge for every single amenity, offer no breakfast, or even bring fresh towels when my baby got sick? Hard pass. Oh and we asked for a crib. I was offered a pack and play instead. After I said it would be fine, we were told they couldn't bring it because of safety issues. We had our own, but she'd thrown up in it too and I just wanted her to sleep someplace clean while ours dried off. I've had better experiences at cheap hotels. This place is the worst.

If I could give Bluegreen 0 stars I would! Do not buy a timeshare from Bluegreen or any of its partners! We have had nothing but problems with their customer service. This latest issue, my husband booked our family Christmas trip yesterday with points and used bonus time. He called the customer service line to have someone help us make the best use of our points and bonus time. We were charged 463.80 for the bonus time portion of our reservation. And when we woke up this morning, we had received an email stating that the CS rep that did our reservation made a mistake and we have to now pay an additional 235.83 (Total+tax 699.63) or cancel our reservation for our CHRISTMAS VACATION!!! This is a typical BAIT AND SWITCH TACTIC and is highly illegal! If that is not the available price, then the CS rep should not have been able to provide that price without receiving an error message in their booking system. We as paying customers/ owners should not have to suffer the consequences of YOUR customer service person incorrectly charging us! The supervisor said she opened a case for her supervisor to listen to the call the reservation was made but that we would have to call back in 3 days to see what they say. They won't even call the customer back. My husband spent an hour on the phone with them to make the reservations, and now I have had to take an additional hour out of my workday to resolve the issue, I still don't have an acceptable resolution, and I have to call them back.... I feel bad for the people that work there. I am sure they hate having to deal with all of the angry customers because of the company's policies. I could never work for a company that treats their customers so poorly!

If you are approached by someone with Bluegreen Vacations, RUN THE OTHER WAY. I have had nothing but horrible experiences with them. Surrounding area is beautiful in the fall, which was our visit time. Cute town, vineyards, sites. The Yurt we are staying is pretty cool HOWEVER, nothing that was promised works. Hot tub is broken, WiFi is broken, land phone doesn’t work and there is not cell service, so you can’t call the guest services. They don’t answer the text option that was provided (probably because of no WiFi or cell service). The gas grill on the patio was left on full blast when we arrived and I went out on the patio to inspect the area and call the front desk to complain about the loud construction. When we pulled up to the yurt, there was LOUD construction going on right next to us and the contractor’s truck was parked in front of the path to get to our room. So my senior citizen parents had to step over a large blacktop separator and carry our luggage around it. When asked to move the truck, (because the rest of the parking lot was EMPTY) they didn’t understand English well. I did Google Translate and they pretty much ignored us. The foreman who spoke some English did come and apologize the next morning which is why I am giving 3 instead of 2 stars. So, we could have gotten a nice hotel in the area with way better amenities for a way better price but we’re stuck with a Bluegreen vacation contract. And this is a trend! A few years ago when I went to stay at their St Petersburg property, there was loud construction on top of my room that started at 7am. This year Bluegreen abruptly canceled our reservation to St Petersburg because of construction. Yet every other place in the area had made their restoration from the hurricane except for them. I suspect this is because Hilton has bought Bluegreen and they already have other resorts in the area. All of their other properties were booked except for their Orlando location that is nowhere near the beach (St Petersburg is the only reason we got the timeshare) and it’s for families with little kids. My nearly 80-year-old Mother bought the Bluegrass contract to RELAX ON THE BEACH, not dodge kids and listen to a full pool of excited children. So Shenandoah is a great place to visit but avoid anything Bluegreen related like the plague. Don’t believe me? Look at these other review screen captures from others that Bluegreen probably paid Google to bury.

The only problem for us was @ 65&56 years of age there was no sidewalk & no parking lot. I was told you need to make a special request 2 weeks in advance lol. Who knew! We hiked to our cabin & drug all our stuff for a weeks stay in the dark & rain, however, clearly our fault for not checking reviews first. Cabin 33 was ours, security saw us lost & helped us out. 2 bedroom was small, but enough. The property itself, gorgeous, staff, very accommodating. Grounds have fishing, gym, horse back riding, arcade, pools, general store, and onsite restaurant. The amenities were incredible. Washer & dryer had no charge, but independent of the room, only 3 bedrooms have a washer and dryer inside suite. All in all great visit, Just don't show up in the dark and the rain and you'll be just fine. Lol!

Shenandoah Crossing was a great place to stay. It was quiet, and provided access to many historic attractions and wineries. It was a little far from some of the things that we had planned; however, it was worth driving through Shenandoah National Park and checking out the scenery. When we booked, the resort didn't disclose plans to shut down the indoor pool and hot tub. We were disappointed that we were not able to do that with our son, but we still enjoyed long, scenic walks, watching horses, playing mini-golf, and going to the play grounds. The rooms are wonderful and have very comfortable beds.
