I recently stayed at Sherwood Forest Campsite and it is wonderful! The place is so spacious and there is privacy between sites. The woods are really beautiful and the place even smells like the lovely pine trees. And it is so quiet! The ocassional crow caws, but mostly it is heavenly silence! So relaxing! The place is so well cared for and it is clean and stocked with essentials. Most of all, the people are just super! They are so friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Thank you! We will be back!

Stayed for one night & it was really fun! There was a walkable beach access 10 mins away from our site which was really cool! Found a lot of sea glass!! Cute campsites, and bathrooms were clean. Staff were incredibly kind & welcoming!

We just stayed in Cabin 3 for a week and it was perfect for our family of 4! Clean, comfy beds, TV with streaming channels for rainy days, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Appreciated the firepit and gas grill provided outside each cabin. Though each cabin has 2 units, there’s a solid wall separating the screened in porches and the outdoor seating areas are spaced out, so we barely noticed having neighbors. This was a great base for exploring the rest of the peninsula. It’s a short walk to the beautiful Pemaquid Beach, which is one of the only true sandy beaches in this entire area (and great for kids with its gentle water and tide pools). Short drive (or even bike ride) to the fort, lighthouse, ice cream, area lobster shacks, etc. It was also so quiet and peaceful at night here - great stargazing from the chairs outside our cabin! Overall a great value for the money and a great spot for a classic family beach vacation. Bring a fan or two if hot weather is predicted - there’s no ac, but it’s rarely needed at night in this area anyway. We will definitely return one day - hopefully next summer!!

Despite the cold and the rain this was one of our best camping experiences! The hosts were incredible and helped us settle in making sure we had what we needed to stay warm and cozy. Hearing the ocean at night was so relaxing. Our site was quiet, and well protected by the trees. The whole area was clean and well cared for. We would recommend anyone to stay at Sherwood if they're on the midcoast.

This was our second time visiting, and it didn't disappoint! The person checking us in was super friendly and helpful. We camped in a tent site, so I can't speak to the RV's, but our site was fantastic, and you didn't feel like you were too close to your neighbors. There was running water at our site, and you can choose to have electricity or not. There was a clean outhouse nearby for convenience, but nicer, very clean bathrooms and showers a short walk away. The showers are 25 cents for five-minutes, which is more than enough for us. And the beach is a super nice, short walk down a cute path. Great sunsets on the beach!

I highly recommend this campground. The staff are friendly and helpful. I stayed alone for 3 weeks this summer in a tent and felt perfectly safe. The walk to the beach is a dream and the sunsets are spectacular. There are plenty of showers available and they play my favorite radio station in the bath house. I look forward to seeing the staff and some of the camper residents again next year. It feels very much like a nice neighborhood, you feel right at home. Excellent vibes so check it out and I will see you there! Thank you!

Will definitely be back! It’s a great base for exploring the surrounding Maine Coast. I was tent camping, and I could hear the ocean waves as I fell asleep. There’s also a great field for stargazing right at the tent sites. Convenient, quiet, friendly, and safe.

We had a nice 3 day stay at Sherwood Forest. There are lots of seasonal sites there, and during the week it was peaceful and quiet. However, on Friday night there were more campers and kids, so it got a little noisier, although we slept just fine. Bath house is clean and the piped music a nice touch. Our site was level, but backing in took a few attempts due to the trees. The are no sewer hookups, but there is a dump station on site, and a honey wagon can be pre-booked for a nominal fee. Walking distance to Pemaquid lighthouse snd beach, but you have to pay to get in.

Nice and peaceful campground. Within walking distance to a beach on the Atlantic Ocean. ATT had service, but no T-Mobile at all, for those interested. Bathrooms and showers were very quaint and clean. Sites seemed close together on the map so I chose a site way in the back for the week which was nice, but it does get very quiet at night, so sound travels: (either the tall branchless trees not making good homes to insects/birds, or just the time of year) The tent sites have their own water spigots which was great. The firewood was kept inside and was nicely seasoned. Would recommend and would camp there again!

Peaceful, quiet campground with Pemaquid Beach access at the end of the campground's driveway. Dog friendly beach located past beach/nature park off of the Loop Road within walking distance of campground.

This place is great! Very clean and easy to navigate. A big field to play in, basketball hoop, teeny playground. Didn't seem as though the ping-pong room was in operation which was disappointing. Wicked clean bathrooms! Super easy walk to the beach if you aren't carrying too much!
