Show Low Lake Campground

The ground is very fine dirt. We expect some mess when camping, but our grandkids and all of our things were extra dirty. The showers are yuck and close at 7pm. Doesn't allow for cleaning everyone up after dinner and before bed. Picnic tables were dirty and gross. Campsite was not clear of trash. There were several small things left on the ground. Trash in the fire ring. Bathroom was clean, but according to the log was cleaned every other day. The lake is super low, very grassy, and difficult to shore fish. Won't stay here again.

The camp sights are a lot closer together then said on there maps especially right by the main building. The restroom and water station are right by the sights as well.It was nice early morning. The trails to the creek and lake are steep so watch out for that as well as some trails go right into campsites. Trails and roads need a little more barriers. The lake is really low to what it was but also be careful can swim a bit but theres also fishing stuff. My biggest issue is the campground rented out a big day spot to a big group of people. Some of them stayed others came in a vans and cars all weekend. The group was loud at night and keep driving around in and out of campsites as well as the group was smoking everywhere, they also made messes in the bathrooms. Luckly the camp host was on top of that.Don't know if this group comes every 4th of July week so be worn.

Small campground and all the sites are walking distance to the lake. Peaceful even though it's a populated location. Showers, toilets, water near the sites. They only have a few sites with hookups. I never found the camp host so I booked online, which has a $10 booking fee. I would stay here again if I ever needed to be in Show Low.

Show Low Campground was a great place to camp and fish. The best part for us was how close the campsites were to the lake. It was such a short walk, which made it really easy to go back and forth without feeling like we had to pack everything up every time we wanted to fish or take a break. The fishing was great while we were there, and that made the trip even better. It is always nice when you can camp close to the water and actually have a good fishing experience too. The lake was easy to get to, and the area had that peaceful outdoor feel that makes camping worth it. The night fishing was awesome. There is just something different about being out by the water after dark, when everything is quieter and cooler. It ended up being one of our favorite parts of the trip. Overall, Show Low Campground was a really nice spot for a camping and fishing trip. The close lake access, good fishing, and great night fishing made it a place we would definitely come back to again.

The campground itself is solid. Restrooms were clean, and the showers were exactly what you’d expect from a campground — basic, but they get the job done. One big plus was the fire pits with built-in grilling tops, which were a lifesaver for us. We came ready to cook and made some carnitas from a freshly butchered hog, and it turned into a great cookout. All of our neighbors were friendly and laid-back, which really added to the experience. Unfortunately, Show Low Lake was a huge disappointment. The lake was mostly dried up, and fishing was rough. We tried everything — catfish, trout, sunfish — even stayed out all night fishing, and didn’t catch a single thing. We camped here on 04/19/2026. If you’re coming mainly for camping and hanging out, it’s a good spot. But if fishing is your main reason for visiting, definitely lower your expectations.

We took over 400 people to Show Low campground for 7 days to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. If was awesome, even though it rained 5 out of the 7 days we loved the campground and time there. The camp host Tony did an excellent job of taking care of us and we highly recommend this location.

Not bad. But not worth the money. Store and office was not open upon arrival at 2pm on a Saturday. Phones also are not answered. Luckily we had already reserved a spot. We went to the posted Canp Host site and knocked on both campers there, but got no answer. So, we could not buy firewood or ask to move to a different site that we liked better and which didn't appear to be reserved. We never saw anyone who seemed to be a camp host during our stay. The upside is the place is wonderfully quiet and we slept well. Bathroom was OK but had no hand soap in either the men's or women's.

So I think it is important to preface this review with, there are just somethings that campground staff cannot be responsible for, but it does impact the enjoyment of the stay. The staff definitely did their best to provide great customer service. From the moment we arrived till our departure the office staff was friendly and helpful, and explained why the showers had to close at 7pm etc. Maintenance staff......well that could use some work. I cleaned public restrooms for many years. It is a losing battle, but you still try. The stand alone restrooms were often.... not good. Toilet paper on the floor and small trash cans overflowing with used toilet paper. That is a cultural thing, and it sucks but the bathrooms need to be cleaned more. The main bathrooms showed staff had cleaned them but there was soap bar wrappers on the ground that were never touched. The campground itself, is not bad. If you live in a cookie cutter home, you'll have no issues, because you can hear the neighboring campsites chewing their food. most folks were friendly and adhered to the 10pm quite time. The lake is very low from being drained for dam work. Most of the artificial fish habitats are out of the water, and there are unmarked hazards in the lake. Mud everywhere, and people parking on the boat ramp because they did want to walk all the way up to the parking lot. I heard sheriffs department came through and threatened to issue citations. I would camp there again but definitely look for a site in one of the other smaller groupings of camp sites, and not in the main area.

It's a nice campground. Not real good for fishing right now. Lake levels low. I'm handicapped I struggled quite a bit. No campfires either.

Since the drained the lake to do repairs the water level is so low it's not very appealing to want to fish or even cruise the water. It's a shame .

Great location right by the lake made for a good camping trip overall (4/5 stars). However, the dirty men's toilets and zero supply of essentials like soap and paper towels were a downside that need to be addressed. Come for the scenery and beautiful camping sites, but be prepared for the restroom situation.

Wonderful place!! Devin is the man! We're just passing through and called at the last minute to get a camping spot. He hooked us up with a nice spot by the lake. Camp grounds were very clean and the bathrooms were awesome.

We hiked down behind the dam and it was beautiful! We didn’t catch fish but it was quiet and beautiful. Only a few people came passing through.

Such a beautiful lake camping right next to the water was wonderful and being able to park right next to your tent was perfect !! Devon was such a nice host If you’re looking for a place just to chill it’s pretty nice, You have restaurants and stores pretty close by That could be positive or negative just depends on the person and what you’re looking for
