Obviously a really nice location; however, that’s where the experience ends. The camp spots are REALLY close together! Our fire pit was within 15-20’ of two other fire pits, so at night you can seriously hear everyone else’s convos. Then of course multiple dogs barking excessively and no camp host driving around to enforce the noise rules. I tried to call the number to report them and it went right to voicemail on a Saturday at 2pm with no follow up. And seems everyone has generators now and like to run them for multiple hours throughout the day. I get it, people want to charge their batteries or cook dinner, but these camp grounds need to outright ban generators or create rules (like all other camp grounds), they can only be run for a certain period of time and only certain times a day. My fav time was when the people next to us were at their camp fire at 8pm (right next to everyone else) then decided to go inside their camper and watch a movie, starting their loud external gen and letting it run for a couple hours…with zero consideration for anyone else’s peace and quiet! So between the generators and people’s stupid dogs barking…not peaceful!

Lower Billy Creek Campground is an absolute gem! Beautiful scenery, peaceful atmosphere, and a great spot to unplug and enjoy the outdoors. The campground is well-kept, spacious, and surrounded by incredible trees and mountain views that make you feel like you’re truly away from it all. Whether you’re camping with family, fishing, hiking, or just sitting by the fire under the stars, this place delivers. It’s quiet, relaxing, and has that classic mountain campground feel that’s hard to beat. If you’re looking for a great camping spot in the Huntington Lake area, Lower Billy Creek is definitely worth the trip. We’ll absolutely be back!

I was surprised to see such nice reviews on this campground. All the sites are extremely close to each other, which takes away the feeling of camping in nature. The only plus I saw on this site, was the proximity to the water. However, the sites being so close to each other was big negative for me.

Lower Billy Creek Campground - June 20-22 2025 Unfortunately, a few incidents negatively impacted our stay. The campground attendants, a couple managing the site, informed us they had received two complaints about my dog, Tako, barking excessively. While I understand the importance of maintaining a peaceful environment, I was surprised when one of the attendants yelled directly at my dog in an attempt to quiet him. It seemed unlikely that a stranger shouting would help calm him, and it added unnecessary tension to our experience. More distressingly, on the day of our departure, we discovered that the white trash bin in the restroom had been replaced with a black bin that had a racial slur—the N-word—written on it. This was reprehensible and deeply upsetting. We immediately reported it to the attendants, but their response lacked the concern and urgency we expected for such a serious and offensive issue. Camping should be a safe, welcoming, and inclusive experience for everyone, regardless of background or identity. It was especially disheartening that the campground attendants didn't offer to follow up with us, particularly considering that my friend was the only Black camper present during our stay. The lack of acknowledgment of the seriousness of the incident made the situation feel even more isolating. I hope this review brings attention to the need for greater accountability and sensitivity at this campground. I also strongly encourage Recreation.gov to make more visible and proactive efforts to ensure that all campers feel safe, respected, and valued at every site they manage. Everyone deserves to enjoy nature without fear of discrimination or hostility. Lastly, I believe that fellow campers also share the responsibility of creating a supportive and inclusive environment. We should all be looking out for one another in outdoor spaces—standing up against unacceptable behavior and ensuring that everyone feels a sense of belonging.

As of July, only Lower Billy Creek at Huntington Lake is open. Upper Billy Creek remains closed.....too many burnt trees from last year's Creek Fire!

My family and I just returned from a camping trip to this great campground. There are about 10 available sites for reservations and they are SUPER CLEAN. The campground has plenty of clean bathrooms, overflow parking, and friendly staff. There are bearboxes, fire pits with grills, and nicely raked pads for tents. The ambiance is peaceful, fresh, and inviting. These sites are within walking distance to Huntington Lake where a ride variety of activities await. We spent our days on the lake and even went to the little island in the lake.

Absolutely beautiful. I haven't been here since I was a teen. Brought the grand kids. They had a wonderful time. The only thing is looking at all the burn scars. From the massive fire. Just wanted to cry. Was difficult to remember where I was. Cressmans is coming together. Not the same old country store. It is gone. So depressing.

Really nice, clean and nice spot for camping. The approach roads are a bit narrow and surrounding areas seem to be effected by the fires but the view of the lake and quite time in nature is worth the time would definitely recommend!

My family has been camping here for years. It's not crazy with power boats like Shaver. We like to kayak, sail and paddle board. There are good hiking trails nearby and the campground is clean and quiet.

Nice campground right on the lake. Lots of families playing in the water. Great easy hiking trail. A 10 minute walk gets you to a resort with boats, restraunt and ice cream
