I was told this place was just okay. So I decided to check it out for myself. I did not agree. I went on a day where most of the sites were empty so I could check them out. Some are directly on the lake with a tiny walk down. I'd say it's not as nice if you didn't get a lake site but even to walk around lovely spot. I will be back to ride my bike through there as well!

Really peaceful campground and beautiful but take note this Silver Lake is not the swimming lake. That is 1 hour away. It was a bummer not to have anywhere to swim. We used to bike in trail to bring our gear in with a wagon and it was extremely buggy. Mosquitos swarming like crazy. The hiking trail is much nicer but steep.

Hike in to get to camp ground and picnic area. Pit type restrooms. Bear box provided in each camp site. Picnic table and fire pit too. Water is available but needs to be treated. Need to boil or chemically treat. Beautiful private tent sites. Not for motor homes or trailers.

Helen and I enjoyed a nice stroll up from the Falls at Lana and enjoyed a snack at the picnic area overlooking Silver Lake.

Nice campground. Sites similar to "car camping" sites with picnic tables and fire rings and a couple of indoor toilets nearby (with paper!) but parking lot is a half mile hike away. This limits how much you can bring in (for better or worse) but also means no headlights or engine noise when you are trying to get to sleep. You can't control the loons, though. Note that the signs say that there are no bear boxes for your food when, in fact, there are at least two (probably a recent add considering recent activity). Also, there was a sign pointing to a water source but I couldn't get far down that path before blackberry prickers got too dense. Filtered some lake water instead. Survived long enough to write this review.
