This is a beautiful location. The campground isn't newest, the bathrooms need an update, though they are functional. But beyond that, there is nothing to complain about. Some people don't like the sand, but that is part of the campgrounds beauty. The sites are all partial shade and back onto a spit of sand that runs all the way down to the swimming hole at the river. The trees are mature and gorgeous. There is only one row of temporary sites. The rest seem to be seasonal. It definitely isnt over crowded and it is kid and dog friendly. The folk that are here are a friendly group and added to the experience. It was like going camping 30 years ago. The water on each site is not only drinkable but tasty. We will be visiting again!

I have not stayed here but came through with some friends on the river. We put out in the park to meet up with our ride and I dropped my cell phone. I realized the next day and was able to gps locate it in the park. Someone had turned it in to the office. The staff were welcoming and able to confirm easily that it was my phone. Thank you to the lovely people of the park and the manager!

A fun stop off the highway. This place was beautiful! Tons of big old trees, we were camping in a full forest. The site was easy to drive around, evening when towing a 27 foot trailer. Our lot for the night was big, easy to pull in to and out of, and it was so quiet! A short trail takes you the the river, and we were told there is a beach as well, although we didn't have time to explore that. The staff were friendly, and very helpful. We will be returning here on our next journey East!

Be warned- you will likely scrape the back of your RV entering this place. The railroad tracks crossing is way too steep on both sides to be an entrance to a campground. The lady told me that we'd be fine, but it cost us a safety cable and a bit of damage to our coach entering and leaving. The sites are on sand, and we got stuck... I'm sure it's a nice place for seasonal living, but not for an overnight stay, and definitely not for $67/ night with only 30 amp, not enough water pressure to do dishes, and no sewer.

Love this campsite! Super close to Huntsville and yet tucked away in a lovely quiet area. There’s power and water available at each campsite and clean amenities: bathroom, shower and laundry. There’s a small beach along a river where folks launch kayaks, hangout and sunbathe. Volleyball net is set-up along the sand. Sells ice and firewood onsite. Owners are super chill, helpful and accommodating. This is my third year coming here- it’s difficult to find comparable campsites, so we keep coming back. Love it every time.

Spent one night here this past weekend and really enjoyed the stay. The site was very spacious and nicely covered with trees. The staff was very friendly and the location is great, close to a beach and easy drive in to the Main Street of Huntsville if you want to grab dinner out.

Stayed here for two nights. The owners are helpful and accommodating. Grounds seem kept up. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend moving on. Campground in front of a railway and a busy Hwy 11…the gateway to the North! Lots of families. Summer activities for the kids. Don’t drink the water.
