Silverwood RV Park
Overview
Silverwood RV Park serves as the premier official basecamp for the largest theme park and water park in the Pacific Northwest. Located right on the doorstep of the attractions, it offers a perfect blend of convenient theme park access and a peaceful, wooded setting. It is thoughtfully designed to accommodate travelers who want to maximize their vacation time while enjoying the comforts of their own rig in a family-friendly environment.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in Athol, ID, the park is surrounded by the breathtaking scenic beauty of Northern Idaho. The campsites are nestled within mature pine trees, providing a natural buffer from the excitement and noise of the nearby roller coasters. Its central position between Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint makes it an ideal hub for exploring the greater Panhandle region while staying in a rural, mountain-inspired environment that feels secluded and calm after a busy day.
Amenities & Park Features
The park provides high-quality, well-maintained infrastructure, including full hookup sites with both 30 and 50-amp service to handle modern RV needs. Key features of the facility include:
- Clean restrooms and private hot showers for guest comfort.
- An on-site laundry facility and a camp store for daily essentials.
- Recreational spaces including a playground and volleyball courts.
The standout feature remains the seamless proximity to the park entrance, which saves guests significant time and transit costs compared to staying further away.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While the primary draw is undoubtedly Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach, the surrounding area offers incredible outdoor diversity. A short drive south leads to the stunning Lake Coeur d'Alene, famous for its crystal-clear water and world-class boating. To the north, visitors can explore Farragut State Park, which offers miles of hiking trails and public beach access along the deep, glacial waters of Lake Pend Oreille and various historical sites.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for families and thrill-seekers who want the easiest possible access to the theme park's legendary rides and cooling water slides. It is also a great fit for RVers looking for a well-organized resort experience with reliable amenities rather than a remote boondocking site. Because of its specific location, it is perfect for those planning a multi-day visit to the local attractions without the stress of a long daily commute.

There are sprinklers that go every night so they tell you to stay off the grass, however the water sprays partially into the campsites and on the pathways to the bathroom. In my case, my tent got wet in multiple sites while off the grass in the gravel. I will say the grass is very green and nice for playing though, the sprinkler placement just isn’t the best. Also there are not enough bathrooms, especially for women. I was prepared to wait in line for the bathroom in the theme park but I didn’t expect to have to wait in line every time I had to pee while I was in the campground. There are only two bathrooms which isn’t enough for a camp this size. In one loop, there was portable restrooms but they were completely full to the top and unusable, also with no toilet paper or hand sanitizer. Side note there are also no family restrooms in the campground, which is unfortunate for young parents.

Incredible location, friendly staff, clean and flat. Unfortunately for men there's only three flush crappers for 175 campsites. There are a couple of porta potties scattered around to help. This, by far has to be the loudest campsite I've or anyone has ever been to as it's right next to an unofficial "interstate". I love a camp fire but the constant roar of traffic forced us into the camper. Not many fires. Stay here for the convenience, not the camping experience.

Convenient and perfectly located for visiting Silverwood Theme park. Campground is very clean and organized. Camp store was very affordable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Only recommendation I can give is needing more bathrooms. It can be quite the stroll in the middle of the night to use the restroom. Overall, great experience.

Such an amazing park to stay at! Affordable prices, super easy check-in and checkout, and the location couldn't be better—just a short walk to the theme park! The bathrooms were clean, and the customer service was truly 10/10. We were able to buy our park ticket here as well as firewood! We stayed in the tenting area near the highway, and while you could hear cars passing at night, it really wasn’t too bad. Our spot was clean and well-kept, complete with a picnic table, fire pit, electricity, and water. We stayed in a rooftop tent and had a wonderful experience overall. Highly recommend!
