Im giving it a 4 star because the sites are very small and tight for bigger campers. We have a 30-35 foot camper and we had to move around tree limbs, rocks and stumps very close to the site that was just big enough for our camper. Great location and very nice maintenance guys. Its a beautiful place for kids and you are able to tube down the river.

My wife and I stayed at the HTR Camp Ground and Cabins in our travel camper to visit one of my college friends and his lovely wife.. Tammy and Cindy at the front desk and reservations treat you like Family. They send you out with all your campsite info and field all your calls/ questions. Dicky and Aron assist the campers with their issues and maintain the camp ground immaculately. They are always working around the campsites and ready to help you in moments notice. The Adirondack Old Forge area is gorgeous and the town has great restaurants, shops and a great Adirondack feel. The Moose River views from our campsite were stunning. We really enjoyed our stay and will be booking a campsite again next year for this same week!

This campground was a great location close to Old Forge and Water Safari. We camped here with our two girls and they had a great time. It's a small campground with lovely facilities. The newly renovated bathhouse was perfect as we did not opt for the full hookup site this time. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful! They assisted in getting our camper situated upon arrival and checked in with us numerous times during our stay to see how we were doing. We were able to purchase tickets for water safari right at the office as well as the few items that we forgot at home. :) The campground itself is clean and well kept and guests are very friendly! A wonderful experience! We have already booked to come back!

Stayed a few days to explore Old Forge & inlet & we were quite happy with our choice of campground. If you read reviews from years past, realize it is under new management (this is 2025) and by what some locals have told us, they are moving in the right direction. Everyone we met was so nice, and they really do appear to be fixing the place up. Upper bath house was freshly remodeled, kept nice and clean, and showers were as warm as you'd want! We were in site #121, across the drive from the true waterfront sites. While our site was adequate, next time we'll be angling for a waterfront site. In the same loop there were also waterfront cabins, which seemed almost new. (Didn't get to look inside.) Price per night was in line with other area campgrounds. I do need to mention that the free WiFi was the best I've ever experienced in a campground! Very few complaints, roads were a bit rough, no way you'd want to go faster than 5mph. There's no pool but there is a small beach on the river. No laundry, just a small camp store with all of the usual supplies. We'll probably return.

Wonderful place to camp! Stayed at a "primitive" campsite (Tent only; no w/e hookup) for 3 nights and it was perfect. We were booked at site 202 and it was the most ideal site with its longer layout. It was directly across from the bathrooms/showers, which was perfect because we had a 7 year old with us. Bathrooms were renovated and mostly clean throughout our stay. Would definitely stay again!
