Overview

Located in the heart of Northwestern Wisconsin, Six Lakes Resort & RV Park offers a peaceful retreat for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Chetek Chain of Lakes. This park provides a classic lakeside experience where the days revolve around the water and the evenings are spent relaxing by the shore. It serves as a comfortable base for exploring the interconnected waterways that define this unique region, offering a blend of traditional camping and modern resort convenience.

Location & Surroundings

The resort is situated on the shores of Pokegama Lake, one of the primary bodies of water in the famous Chetek Chain of Lakes. Surrounded by lush greenery and calm waters, the setting feels secluded yet is conveniently close to the charming town of Chetek. The chain consists of Prairie, Mud, Pokegama, Chetek, Ten Mile, and Moose Ear lakes, providing a picturesque backdrop of wooded shorelines and abundant wildlife that creates a true Northwoods ambiance.

Amenities & Park Features

Guests have access to a variety of features designed for both relaxation and recreation. The park offers RV sites with full hookups and features a heated outdoor swimming pool for those who prefer a dip away from the lake. Boaters will appreciate the private dock spaces available for rent, making it easy to hit the water at a moment's notice. Additionally, the on-site bar and grill provides a social hub for grabbing a meal, while the playground and game room keep younger travelers entertained.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Fishing is the primary draw here, as the interconnected lakes are famous for panfish, walleye, and northern pike. Beyond the water, visitors can head into downtown Chetek to explore local boutique shops or catch a performance by the Chetek Hydroflites Water Ski Show. For those who enjoy dry-land activities, several local golf courses and hiking trails are just a short drive away, and the area hosts various seasonal festivals that showcase the friendly local culture.

This park is an ideal fit for avid anglers and families who want a vacation centered on lake activities and water sports. It appeals to those seeking a community-oriented environment where neighbors often become friends over a shared love for the outdoors. Bartenders are great. Prices are are fine. Had a once off terrible experience with the neighboring bar owner at six lakes. He had to be removed for inappropriate activities that night. Hopefully it's a one off experience. Otherwise it's always been a great place to be at

Seems they're out of gas every time we try to go there. Even called first and they said they had gas, but when we showed up they were out.

Great place to stay. My wife and I were looking for a place to get away and relax. We found it. We stayed in Cabin # 3 and it was great. Everything you need was here. The deck overlooks the lake and was a great place to just sit. Inside was clean and well kept. Even in the middle of the day the whole place was peaceful. Everyone was friendly as we walked around.

UPDATE: After enjoying our stay last summer we decided to stay for two weeks this summer. Rating went from 5 to 4 stars because of condition of bathroom/shower facility. Bathhouse is all concrete, not serviced on a regular basis, no ventilation, and has moldy showers with plenty of mosquitoes in the summer. Also, the dump station is located on the wrong side for campers leaving the park. Great location but some sites can be tough for getting in trailers longer than 30'. Laid back atmosphere, comfortable, but not full hook up luxury accommodations. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We enjoyed our time at the RV park with our motorhome. Quiet campground with a fun bar and waterfront dock (swim, bring your own kayak/boat/pontoon or rent). Most of the sites are seasonal so I am assuming getting one with full hook up for weekend stay takes planning ahead. Water and electric sites are easier to find. We stayed at site #122 and it was fine. #119 has paved parking and full hook up with easy parking for bigger rigs. There is a dump station on the property as well.

Loved it!! Clean, plenty of docks to fish from, the sites are more spacious than many others that we have been to, the office has all sorts of things on hand like bait, ice, firewood, etc. Games were nice for the kids! The bar only serves beer, pop and pizzas but after a long day that was all we needed! No beach on site but there was a swimming area at the docks and there is a public beach not far from there.
