I love the campground! The ppl aren't as friendly as I am used to in Va. I'm a traving nurse and was the only black female or person out there and they stole my hammock and stand they also stole a tub of stuff for my dog. One family was real nice to me and the owners were nice. I just don't think they are too used to black ppl coming to Louisa campgrounds. I'm now in north 340 and everyone is friendly. Overall a nice place to camp and bathrooms were clean.

It's crazy how this place will allow tents. It won't allow a $50,000 RV in there. I think it's a little discrimination , and if I can tell by looking at a few of the pictures, there's trailers in there, older than in 2007 !! Ten out of ten I do not recommend

Three groups of us picked this campground to meet at due to its location to lots of wineries, breweries, and distiliieries. We arrived around 4:30pm (check in was available at 2pm) and check in was very fast and easy. Staff at office was very friendly and helpful. We made our way to our pull through site, Gold 6, and found it very unlevel. It took us quite some time adjusting the trailer forward and back, side to side, just to find the least unlevel spot on the site that would enable us to set up. Good thing I had lots of extra blocks to assist, but it definitely added some time in the setup process (be sure you have what you need for these situations). Once we finally got level and setup we loved our spot, with lots of shade and plenty of room. The campground and facilities were clean. If you need to use the bathhouse after dark you will definitely need a flashlight, there are no lights whatsoever around the campground, not even on the bathhouse, and it is pitch dark....so make sure you know where it is ahead of time. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here and would likely stay here again, but a little work on leveling the sites better would go a long way.

Wow. This campground has it all and I mean all. If you are looking for amenities for kids you won't be disappointed. I will list them all in a minute. We stayed a week. Check in was smooth. Big rig friendly. Friendly staff. Weekend activities. Each site has a table and fire ring. Wood sold onsite. Camp store was nice and what you would expect. Friday and Saturday they had a snack shack open with homemade pizzas, they were good. 🍕. Kevin loved the white chocolate chip cookies too. Large pond with walking trail. 2 docks to fish off of. Kayak launch, boats for rent. 2 awesome beaches. Water was nice and clean and the sand was nice and looks like it has fools gold in it. Putt putt course. Huge jumping pad, multiple playgrounds, multiple corn hole boards in 2 places, horse shoes, multiple bath houses (and clean), laundry (2.00 each, but dryers are huge so I got 3 loads in dryer) pool, shuffleboard, huge game room, basketball, hiking trails easy for kids too, dog park with 2 sides for small and large dogs, pet waste stations, weekend activities like bingo and trivia with prizes, wagon rides and more. This place was a great place to unwind. Close to the battlefields to take day trips. Would definitely recommend.

We visited this campground the week before Memorial Day. We had a couple of days of nice and sunny weather with heavy rain the last day. I think we had the best site in the campground. It was a nice pull through that overlooked the lake. It was level and easy to get to. It was a quiet week as we were not there on a weekend. They have a jumping pad and playground for the kids and a really nice mini golf course. The pool was open, but it was too chilly for the pool. The pool is small, so it may be busy on weekends or holidays. The owners and everyone working there were the nicest and friendliest people. They were working hard preparing for an upcoming busy Memorial Day. The lake has a couple of sandy beach areas and you can get in the lake and kayak as well. There is a trail that goes around the park. This is a great family campground. Our grandchildren would enjoy this. The amenities are close enough together the kids would have an easy time enjoying all of it. We have a large 5th wheel and the roads were a little narrow the last few minutes of getting to the campground. We took a different route out on the advice of other campers and it was better. For a relaxing, clean, family campground, you won't be disappointed with Small Country.

Quiet campground however firepit in our site not cleaned for our arrival had 8 beer cans in it. Washers and dryers in Laundry were ok but floor was filthy and definitely had not been cleaned in a long time. All roads are dirt and gravel some with large ruts/holes.

Nice people. Sites are clear and power seemed clean. Potable water hookups were good.

Small country campground is absolutely amazing. For travelers and adventure seekers from all over. Man made lake , pool , moon bounce, and all kinds of arcade and the likes it's a full on experience. Live music during certain seasons and festivals. My father and uncles actually help to dig the lake way back when it first was built. New owners and managers but the traditions remain in place. I have family that comes all the way from DC to enjoy. Please have fun and be safe. Always be mindful of your kids especially at the lake! God bless

Its a nice place to go camping. Very laid back. My kids had a blast playing put-put, fishing, jumping on the bounce pillow, and playing on the playground. We will definitely be going back!!!!

Nice small clean. Not close to anything.
