So many nice sites! Plenty of room for larger rigs. Easy to get level. Most are well shaded and private. Soapstone is on our list of favorites!

Hated our camping spot, but overall the campground was okay. Bathrooms were terribly dirty and had a very pungent urine smell. Camp hosts never came by for 3 days on a busy weekend. No water or fire wood available. Also, our camp spot was angled terribly for the one way road it was on. Took a long time to get it in the right spot and we ended up going the opposite direction when we pulled out. I think the road needs to be a one way in the opposite direction. We were able to access the Provo river, no clear cut path- but caught some little brook and cutthroat on fly.

Soapstone is a great campground which I'd give a 5 star if it had water. Perhaps the US Forest service will get funding to fix the line someday. We love how close it is to the Provo River allowing fun activities each day by the river. Playing in the water and eating wild raspberries. It sits halfway between Kamas and Bald Mountain near the pass. Not too bad if you need to drive to other hikes and activities.

Loop B has lots of sites that are related from other sites. Loop A has sites with direct river access. A quiet, pretty campground. The description says there is no garbage service, but there were several bear-proof dumpsters. Conveniently located near Lost Lake with day access for kayaking and paddle boarding.

This was a great camp site! We staying in site 17 and it was fairly large with a fire pit and picnic bench. The river was close too! The campgrounds were kept up and the bathroom was clean. We would stay here again!

It’s a campground, that’s for sure. Beautiful location and great camp spots. I really liked this location. I didn’t camp a full night here, but did spend the day and it was great. Dog friendly of course. Extra parking which is really really nice.

Soapstone is a great place to stay. I'm a fan of the sites on the back loop. I think they are in the mid-high twenties. Away from the road, a short walk to the river behind. More secluded. Easy to get to. Well maintained. Not too far up the highway so you get stuck behind less traffic. A short drive to anywhere you want to get too off the Mirror Lake Highway.

Really nice campground! The camp host was really nice really enjoyed dealing with him! Easy to get in and out of even for descent sized trailers (ours is 26ft). Clean with excellent fire pits.

Wonderful campground with a fun stream that ran right by our particular site. Plenty of tree at many of the camp sites so getting a site with shade should not be a worry. The bathrooms were on par for being pretty far into the wilderness and weren’t trashy (but still dropper toilets so you can only expect so much). Now here is the BIG heads up, there is NO running water. We luckily had a water filter, but had we not, we would have had to travel to get more. So go prepared with either an adequate filter or extra water. The camp host was particularly helpful and present its a willing to help attitude which was nice when we had questions. Would for sure recommend this sight. Only giving 4 stars based on the only par toilets and no running water.
