Super crowded. COVID protocol not followed. Technically they only allow up to 100 people. But, when it’s cold, all 100 flock to the hottest pool. It was shoulder to shoulder. Masks were not enforced inside. I was uncomfortable and left. We stayed in a cabin and it wasn’t anything fancy, but we knew that going in. Very disappointed we spent all of that money to avoid the hot springs. It was the last weekend the resort was open, so not a lot available in terms of food. Bring your own!

An unexpected hot spring in the middle of nowhere, we stopped on our way to the Sol Duc waterfall and just had to get in. There’s an underground hot river where the water is pulled from but it doesn’t come to the surface anywhere near by. I sort of wished it was more rustic but really the pools are great. There’s timed reservations and they sell you bathing suits and rent towels, if like us, you didn’t come prepared. You are given an hour of time per group and then everyone has to get out. It’s truly relaxing and if in the area a must.

Plenty of great easy hikes with fantastic views. The hot springs themselves were surprisingly not crowded at all when my girlfriend and I got there. The hot springs run on a schedule, where visitors can enjoy a few man-made pools with the spring water being pumped in for a few hours; after that, the staff close the pools for a bit to clean them before the pools are reopened to visitors. Two most important things to remember when visiting the hot springs, bring a bathing suit and get there as soon as the pools open on their schedule. When I got there, about thirty minutes before the pools were scheduled to be closed and cleaned, they were kind of gross. Bugs and algae were plentiful in the pools. At the next opening however, they were looking great!

What an amazing diamond in the rough! From the quaint cabins and welcome center with gift/essentials shop, to the iconic mineral hot springs of various temperatures, there is literally something for everyone here. I felt about 10+ lbs less stressed just after a few days there soaking in the tubs, adventuring to see the Olympic National Forest and everything it had to offer. And after those leg muscles are sore from hiking you can hop back into the hot springs for a nice soak and relax.

Super Relaxing and definitely worth the visit. Sit in the hot springs for a hour and a half. It may smell funky due to the sulfur contents but the pools feel so nice and all temperatures are regulated constantly. Highly recommend it as one of the top visits when visiting the Olympic Peninsula. 100/10 super relaxing and comfortable especially after long days of hiking and traveling about the National Park.
