Location & Surroundings

Situated in the charming town of Bodega Bay, the park is surrounded by a diverse landscape of rolling coastal dunes and salt marshes. The campground is conveniently located near the harbor, giving visitors easy access to local seafood markets and panoramic views of the bay. The environment is characterized by cool coastal breezes and frequent morning mist, making it a refreshing escape from the inland heat during the summer months.

Amenities & Park Features

While there are no hookups available at the individual sites, the park provides essential facilities including a dump station, potable water, and restrooms with coin-operated showers. Visitors can explore miles of hiking trails that lead to the beach or take a short drive to Bodega Head for exceptional whale watching and birding opportunities. The town of Bodega Bay is famous for its fresh Dungeness crab and its history as the filming location for Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds. Nearby, you can enjoy horseback riding through the dunes or spend an afternoon exploring the local art galleries and surf shops.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is the perfect fit for nature-focused RVers who prefer a quiet, scenic environment over a resort-style experience. It is best suited for those who enjoy dry camping and want to be within walking distance of the shoreline. Amazing view of Coast line, even during summer early morning sometimes you need a light windbreaker. Sounds of waves are amazing!!

The coastline was beautiful, with wide views of the ocean and plenty of beach areas to walk around. It’s great for a peaceful stroll. Although, some parts are a bit rocky, so good shoes help.

I camped at Bodega Dunes Campground in this park. It's a pretty nice campground has all the facilities you need. You can take a walk right out onto the Bayside easily from the campground. You can then walk down the road and get to the harbor and have fish tacos with a view of the harbor. There is a road that also goes down to the ocean side beach. I enjoyed writing my bike around on the roads within the park as well. You can't ride off-road but there are roads that you can ride on. I would go there again.

Beautiful beaches, some beaches are large (1/4”) pebbles that are fun to walk on and glisten shiny when wet. Very interesting and unique. Lots of little treasures for beachcombers
