Great campground right on the St. Mary River to watch the freighters coming and going from the locks. Ample sites with plenty of space, clean facilities (good water pressure in showers), pet friendly, just minutes from downtown shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again

We had a great stay at this campground! River front site (43). Friendly staff and fellow campers - mostly retirees. We got to see the boats go by. Older building but clean bathrooms and facilities which was a big plus. Quiet at night. If you canāt get a riverfront site, sites #71-82 are elevated and have a good view of the river also. Bring binoculars! And we found the Original Soo Locks Boat Tour to be well worth it.

We stayed 1 night before going in to Canada. Lady who checked us in was friendly and gave helpful advice about the campground. We were in site 49 waterfront. Burn pits at each site. Wood available at office 6.50. Base rate of site $50, Showers/bathrooms were clean, you need a code to get in. Laundry is nice, 3.75 for wash, same to dry. The office has a small store area with essentials. There's a game room and tables to sit and have complimentary coffee. We would stay here again. š¾š¾Dog friendly. Rules about bikes.

Our first time at this campground and we loved it! We saw many freighters and a Canadian Snowbirds Airshow. Also, a Canadian fire-suppressing aircraft demonstrated loading and dumping water in the river. The campground used to be a KOA years ago, but is now privately owned . Showers are very clean and everyone is friendly and helpful. Lots are well-maintained and most all have some view of the water. We are planning next year's trip already.

Great location it's right on the St Mary's river. Site are a little small and could use some upgrade but the view from our camper is fantastic. No Sewer hook up but that's part of being on the river. Definitely recommend and will return for sure. Oh the employees are great.

It's all about location. Fabulous place to watch freighters pass through on their way to the Soo Locks. A few lucky people get to setup camp right on the river. Some campsites are VERY unlevel. Mostly 30-W. Some 50-W-S.

We have been staying at this campground for years and absolutely love it! It's quiet, clean and the perfect place to sit and watch the ships on the river. There is no playground equipment or pool for the kiddos and the age demographics is a bit older, so please keep this in mind. If you're looking for a campground to keep the kids entertained, this isn't the best option.

If you need a place to stay in a pinch, this place is good. If you have a clear idea as to where youād like to reserve your spot in the campground, I highly recommend that you be as clear as possible when making a reservation over the phone. I told the woman who picked up we wanted to be on the water and be able to see all the ships that pass by. She said ok and that sheād get us the best site available. She led me to believe we would have what we asked for. She was not transparent about there being to no sites with water frontage. We had to walk from our site to go look at the freighters passing through. The terrible communication left a sour taste in my mouth, and she didnāt take accountability for misleading us. Instead she retreated to my husband that she never promised me a spot on the water. The point is, read BETWEEN the lines when reserving. The extra $5.00 to reserve over the phone was pointless, and we were just in front of a very busy highway. Bring earplugs if donāt want to be startled awake every couple of hours. Also, this is a very crowded small campground. If you want something more private, or to be surrounded by trees, this is definitely not the place for you. Sites are VERY close together. The showers are hot, and the facilities are relatively clean.

While we did not have a site at the waterfront, we did have a site that was perfect, even though the Wi-Fi didnāt reach us. No one parked on either side of us for 2 of the 3 weeks we stayed here. Though this grassy area did draw some different kind of campers. We had electric and water and rented the portable sewer tank a couple of time ($5 per use). We took advantage of the ābuy 6 nights, get the 7th free, so basically paid $30 per night. Several days there were no other campers between us and the water and we could watch the freighters pass from our site (#93). Yes, itās close to Portage Avenue, which is quite busy throughout the day, but only occasionally noticeable at night. The laundry facilities are great ($2 per wash and/or dry), everything is very clean (laundry, restrooms and showers). You can buy ice and firewood on-site, and the grounds are well maintained. Most of all, the owner and her staff are really incredible people. They treat you better than family and are always eager to help in any way. Jeff put us in touch with an incredible mobile RV repair company, Sault Mobile RV Repairs. Shawn and Katie responded immediately and put a great patch on our roof and removed our entire awning that met with a tree in Peninsula State Forest. They even came out and installed a new awning. We loved it here.

We had a great site along the canal just beyond the river - had great visibility of the river and Laker traffic. The lower sites do have the potential to puddle / flood when it rains, be prepared for mud - we had a site that someone had put down a rug and killed the grass so when it rained, we had mud everywhere. The location is awesome and allows driving access to museums, locks and shopping. Would stay again but would be more careful about which site we asked for.

This campground is located right on the river. We found it very relaxing to stay here. Some sites have sewer hookups. there is a dump station on the way out. Some of the sites are close together. We found it very enjoyable and relaxing. all sites have water & electrical, at least 30 amp hookups.
