Dave for one night passing through very close to the interstate and there is a diner right next to the campground. Staff was pleasant. The sights were clean. I did not have to use the bath house so I'm unsure of the state of showers or toilets. Definitely a good stop would be even nice for a few days. The pool area seems nice and there's lots of places to walk the dogs. Very quiet.

We had a great experience at this campground. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and check-in after 8 p.m. was quick and easy. Our pull-through site was spacious and convenient. The only hiccup was that the sign light wasn’t on, so we passed the driveway at first — but once we found it, everything else was smooth. Overall, a very nice campground and we’d stay here again!

We only stopped over for one night on the way down I95. I can say it was clean and quiet, but I won’t ever feel comfortable staying there again. A man in a truck with the tinted window rolled down just far enough for us to see him staring directly at us drove through over and over. I saw him at least 3 times just in the hour & a half we were outside that evening & again in the 20 min it took us to unhook power & water before leaving the next morning. I felt like we were being stalked.

Hidden Treasure!! Wasn’t going to book due to reviews I seen but when calling other campground in area and they were booked they recommended South 40. I am so glad our family took the chance and stayed here. Very peaceful, clean and felt safe. We ended up booking an extra night so we can enjoy it a bit more. We highly recommend! Oh and the Cathy’s grill right out front of campground is a huge must, home cooked meals are always the best!!! #travelbaseballfamily

8/25 South 40 Campground, Petersburg,Va We booked, good fair pricing for a late arrival, everything we needed was left out with us. Right off 95 NB, easy to locate and enter. Signed the paperwork and left it in mail slot as directed for late arrival. Site map was highlighted and lead us right there. Clean & spacious site, all aspect of this were excellent. We will likely make this a pot for overnights as we move up and down east coast.
