We stayed two nights at the Southern Gap campground and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The campground was peaceful, and the bathhouse was incredibly clean and well maintained—one of the best we've come across! The trail system was a huge highlight: clearly marked, well maintained, and easy to navigate. We rented a UTV from Haysi Outdoor and couldn’t have been more pleased with the rental and the trails. To top it all off, we were even lucky enough to see elk during our stay—which was such an amazing and unexpected experience! One thing to note: if you're coming from Tennessee with an RV, be sure to call Southern Gap ahead of time for driving directions. Our GPS took us down a road that was definitely not RV-friendly, and unfortunately, we ended up damaging our awning. A quick call can save you the same trouble! All in all, we had a great time and would absolutely recommend Southern Gap Outdoor Adventure. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

The staff are truly Awesome and got to meet Bailey who’s new in the office she was great. In the three years I’ve been coming up to Southern Gap for Elk projects I’ve never had a bad experience Paige and Billy Campbell have a great place there and I intend to go back and camp there again.
