Southern Hills RV Park is a very nice, clean, spacious park. The restrooms and showers were great. I appreciate the laundry facilities too. Will definitely recommend to one and all. Thank you very much for accompanying us.

All we use is full hookups. No need for a pool. This park is at a lower altitude than up in the hill. It is central east side of the Black Hill. It seems like you can be anywhere in the hill in an hour. Nice clean well maintained park. Dollar general and Lazy R Bar & Grill in walking distance.

We stayed at Southern Hills for four nights, while we visited nearby Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Fort Hayes movie site, and the Crazy Horse memorial. It is the perfect jumping off point for those four attractions. Southern Hills is right off of South Dakota route 79 with easy access for all sizes of RVs. Just up the highway is a full service fuel stop with easy access to truck diesel pumps as well as regular gas pumps. As you exit route 79 into the park, there is a Dollar General plus a bar and grill just off to your right. Twenty minutes away is a Walmart and other shopping. The RV sites at Southern Hills are wide and long with plenty of space for your rig and tow or towed vehicle. The park is all gravel but our site was level and we had no issues. The couple who manage the park were very friendly and helpful, as were the workers we encountered during our stay. We did not use the shower house but my wife used the laundry. The washers and dryers all worked perfectly and there's even a separate machine for washing pet related items. Her only complaint was the lack of air conditioning in the laundry. With the machines running it was like sitting in a sauna. The park was peaceful and quiet while we were there and everyone seemed respectful of the other residents. If we're ever back in the Hermosa area, Southern Hills RV Park will be our preferred place to stay.

Wonderful campground. The grounds and buildings are well maintained. The spots are large. Some have grass next to them. Some are all gravel. Good news is that the gravel is compacted and does not dirty up your rig. We also appreciated that the park was not super large. Several others in the area were crammed full of people. We prefer the peace! The managers were friendly and helpful. The restaurant next door is so good that we ate there several times. All in all, a great 2 weeks.

Great little campground, convenient to Mt Rushmore, Badlands and Rapid City. Restrooms and showers were immaculate and some of the nicest we’ve ever used. Showers were as good as any you would use at home. Walking distance to a Dollar General. Laundry room was affordable, but a window a/c or portable a/c would be helpful when it’s really hot. Perfect place if you don’t need amenities like a pool. Very hospitable staff.

We stayed almost 4 weeks. Nice large pull through spots. A nice central location to go to Rapid City or Keystone. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to South Dakota.

We haven't stayed here, but we met the owner and have personally visited the property. They have a wonderful facility here! The gravel is perfect for rainy days, plenty of space between rigs, clean facilities and the staff is personable and friendly. We will definitely be staying here next time we are in town. The president busts in front are a wonderful touch and so patriotic, we love when individuals especially small companies are not afraid to show their patriotism, thank you for representing with these beautiful art works. #great for family 📷
