The site we were given was okay—definitely not a 4 or 5-star spot, but acceptable for a short stay. Maneuvering our 40 ft RV with a trailer into the assigned site was a bit of a challenge due to the layout. If we return, we’d definitely request a different site for an easier setup. There seemed to be quite a few locals staying there, including one setup with a large fenced-in area for kids to play. It was a bit surprising—hard to tell if all the toddlers belonged to the same family. Maybe it’s just a more affordable alternative to owning a home in the area. As someone from out of town, it was a different vibe than we’re used to, but perhaps that's the norm here. The main park is actually located across the street and appeared to be a little nicer. It seemed more geared toward long-term snowbirds, with a more polished setup overall.

Perhaps the best social activities at an RV resort in Florida. However the main pool has been closed all winter if not longer. You have to drive 1-1/2 miles to use a neighboring one. Really drags a memorable stay down. Bummer.

Thousand Trail/Encore @ Southern Palms Resort was a great experience. Had after hours service for our late arrival, front desk girls were accommodating, park was quiet and I was able to work for about a week and a half with no issues! Thank you!

Very good RV park for a rally staff were very helpful in the meeting. Rooms were kept cleaned. Some of the sites were a little tight to get in but by and large are very friendly. Happy place.

Arrived and were put in a standard site after reserving a premium site. The site had no cable TV or wifi. Even though the campground was not even half full, we were put in a site that was as close to the public highway as you could get. The roads are a trucking thoroughfare which gave us little to no break in noise. We were right by the back entrance which the park started repaving the day after we arrived and continued for three days. The noise from the construction equipment started in the morning and lasted most of the day. Again, the park wasn't even half full and we could have been put in any number of sites to solve these issues. It was never offered nor was the price adjustment for being in a standard site versus a premium. Also, the pool was closed down and the bocce courts appeared not to have used or maintained for a long time. I would not recommend Southern Palms at all.

We stayed in the Pines section which is across the street from the main campground. Even though it’s near a fairly busy intersection we had a relaxing visit. We only stayed 3 nights but had time to visit downtown Eustis and Mount Dora which are both charming and full of things to see and do.

It's and average RV park. I would rate the staff as above average. They were great. Full calendar of events and meals offered was very nice.

Packed as this I the RV season. Friend staying there states Southern Palms is well managed. Flea market next door at the fair grounds on Thursdays. Rented sites appeared tidy.

This was my first time here and will be back. The musical programs- the worship service - the food. - the fellowship - my nice neighbors - the welcoming regulars. Just all provided a great vacation. The staff were very professional getting me set up in a great location. The many activities in the surrounding area added to the fun I had with my daughter and son-in-law.

We were here in May '21 and again in Jan '22 - the difference, in terms of park ambiance, was like night & day. In May we practically had the whole place to ourselves. In January we were packed cheek to jowl with snowbirds. If you had 10 feet of space on either side you were lucky. This huge park, at least where we were at, has very few trees, and grass parking spots. Since we were just overnighting to visit nearby friends it was no big deal. The utilities are not necessarily located in the optimum position, so we almost needed an extension for our 50amp cable. The staff, as always, was friendly & helpful. We just don't enjoy being the last sardine in the can. 😎
