I'm excited for their $2M renovation! The hill seems to be second to none. X2 or X4 times larger of a ski hill than anywhere I've ever been in Minnesota. Beginner level all the way up to very nice jumps! Nicely maintained course and the main hill's chairlift is super fast! The black diamond area is great too! Note that on Saturdays it seems they have races, which blocks off one of the runs (but they have many more).

Kind of over priced for what you're getting. 175 acres of slope (Colorado mountains have 2,000-3,000 of slope) for over $110 a day for a lift ticket + rental. The longest run takes about a minute to ski down for an intermediate skier. 3-4 green runs, 2-3 blue runs, price with rental should be $90 flat. Long lines to pick up your lift tickets and rentals, but you can't rent for consecutive days so you have to return all of your equipment and do the same wait all over again the next day. If you live within an hour of driving it's a good time - I wouldn't waste money flying in from another state for this.

My best friend and I came to Spirit Mountain to learn (and relearn) how to ski. While in the beginners area we were greeted by a wonderful Ski patrol (Had the red cross outfit). Throughout the day he devoted an amazing amount of his time to basically teaching my best friend how to ski from scratch. Needless to say he went above and beyond to make our visit worthwhile and I only wish I had been able to compensate him in a way more meaningful than a good review. I can not praise him enough for his outstanding patience and incredible on the spot pointers. Sidenote- go during the day on a Tuesday if you basically want the slopes to yourself. 10/10 I will definitely be back to these hills in the future!!

Pricey for What you Get, but still a nice ski area. I think $67 for an all day lift ticket is a bit much, $45 or $50 would have been about right for what you get here. Their high speed quad chair is really nice. I like the long and interesting runs. Lift lines were short for a Saturday. Checking in after getting online tickets was quick and easy and no line. Friendly bus driver was there to take us to and from our parking lot. Cool view of Lake Superior from the top of the mountain. Overall a really nice place to ski. I live in the Minneapolis area, it's well worth the 3 hour drive as the runs in the metro area ski areas are so short.

One of the better places to ski in the Upper Midwest. It has awesome views of Lake Superior and the city of Duluth, and good terrain. It gets really windy at the top, so hold onto your little ones! Look for deals. They usually run deals on liftickets. Enjoy!
