I absolutely loved this campground! Great location and beautiful area. Our site was wooded and perfect! There was a little trail that lead down to the lake from our site. The campground host was sweet and knowledgeable…you could tell she loved what she did! I will definitely be back to this campground!

A beautiful area with small pebble beach. There is day use parking available. Make sure you carry a bear spray. A grizzly bear had been encountered prior to us arriving there. Day use area closes at 8 pm

This campground is wonderful! We stayed for 3 nights and had the time of our lives. Getting a campsite here is HARD! It’s a very small campground and it’s beautiful so demand is really high. It’s a bummer that some people don’t show up to their reservations and don’t cancel them so the campsites end up empty. We saw a few like that during our stay. The campground is really shaded and if you’re lucky enough you can get a campsite right next to the lake. We stayed in campsite 15 and had our own little private walkway to the lake. The campsites are really close to each other and not a whole lot of privacy between neighbors. Again, it’s because the campground is very small. The campground has potable water, shared food storage containers, dump station, and flush toilets. No showers, or hand soap in the restrooms. We had easy access to the lake and went there every day. The sunset is beautiful and the lake is stunning. It’s also very private bc that portion of the lake is only used by people camping for the most part. There is a day picnic portion in the other side of the campground but it has access to a different part of the lake. We saw deer in the campground. Keep in mind that bears are also around. We didn’t see any but bear spray is recommended. We took the shuttle to hitch stops right across Sprague to Avalanche trail, lake McDonald lodge/village, and Logan pass. It was SO worth it and free! You also don’t need a car reservation for going-to-the-sun road if you stay here. We went to shop at lake McDonald lodge and their coffee was really good! I would absolutely love to stay here again.

Wow, what a great campground!! Perfect starting location to explore the park, even has its own shuttle stop which turns out to be a huge plus during the busy summer months when lots are already full. My campsite #16 had its own little trail down to Lake McDonald which was perfect for cold plunging in the cool waters on a hot day while watching the sun set behind the mountains after hiking all day. Those sunsets are truly magical. The Lake McDonald lodge is also close by which came in handy for last minute supplies, ice, and a large pizza when my camp food just wasn't cutting it. I really enjoyed my stay here and preferred it over my campsite in St Mary, but that's more of a personal preference than anything. Stay here and you won't regret it!! Ohhh and if you have paddleboards/kayaks bring them, you can launch them here too!

Great little campground in Glacier National Park. It is about a mile south of Lake McDonald Lodge and situated between Going To The Sun Road and Lake McDonald so you do hear the road traffic but you have amazing views of Lake McDonald and access to the lake. The bathrooms are clean and there is potable water. The campsites are nice, some better than others. The other half of the campground is a picnic area. It has a couple of kayak/canoe/sup launch sites. Overall a very laid back and quiet campground. And the camp host, Jane, is very friendly, helpful and wonderful. So far it is my favorite campground in Glacier!

The Sprague Creek campsite where we stayed gave us privacy and great views of Lake McDonald. It’s just a short drive north of the visitor center and is unique in that it does not offer RV access which provides more peace and quiet. If you plan on staying there during the summer months you need to arrive early to ensure you find a spot. On the campground website they will list when the campgrounds fill each day which is helpful. This site along with others is based on a first come first served basis only so be sure to plan ahead and arrive early to get a good campsite. This location also offers a nice private beach behind the campsites which is a great spot to look at the sunset across Lake McDonald. Since it still sits on the lake it also makes it convenient to get around since it is close to several attractions! - @wanderingwithustwo
