Spruce Lake RV Resort

Came for one week reservation. Nice location but not well maintained. I've seen better bathroom/shower facilities in an Army barracks. Needs renovation bad! RV spots not well maintained, uneven with very little to no gravel. Additionally, they do not allow any dog enclosures (small fences). They said it was because of Elk rutting... "the horns get stuck, animal control is called, they have to put down the animal and you get charged $2000. I did not see the limitation in the terms but it is there if you can find it. I missed it. Would have been helpful if it was stated next to the "pets" section in the reservation software. After 2 nights, we needed to go somewhere where the enclosures were allowed. I asked for at least a partial refund and they would not budge. Very disappointing. Will not return and I don't recommend it as a good or accommodating vacation spot.

We absolutely love this RV park in Estes Park. As Denver locals, we’ve stayed at quite a few campgrounds over the years, and this is the one we keep coming back to. The sites are bigger than most RV parks, which makes such a difference when you’re traveling with kids. The whole resort is super clean, including the bathrooms, laundry room, and common areas. You can tell they take a lot of pride in keeping everything nice. Our kids loved riding their bikes around the resort, and we always felt safe letting them explore a little on their own. The stocked trout pond was also a huge hit and made for a really fun, relaxing stay. The river running adjacent to the property is a plus. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect, close enough to town to get anywhere quickly, but still quiet and peaceful. There’s also the cutest little market within walking distance that came in handy more than once when we forget a few things from home. We seriously can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s become one of our favorite family spots, and we keep coming back every year.

I visited this park with my parents the last week of the season. The lots are small. There are no fire rings. Our lot did not have the picnic table that was supposed to be included. We had to ask for one and then we were asked multiple times if they could take it back because they wanted to get it done before the end of the season. Either you're open or you're not. There should not be less amenities than you pay for on the last week of the season. The WiFi was also shut off early for the season. Shout out to one staff member who let us use his personal WiFi for the week. He was great and is the only reason this review is getting two stars for service instead of one. The rest of the staff was rude and unhelpful. The laundry room was also closed three days before the last day. If things are not going to be available then there should be a deep discount for those days. The only standout about this location is that it is as close as you can get to Rocky Mountain National Park without staying in the park itself. I would not recommend staying here if you have another option.

Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Large, flat sites each with a picnic table. Great views right along the river. Walking distance to several restaurants, a well-stocked local grocery store, gas station and gift shop. Near RMNP entrance. Would definitely return.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Well maintained Park. Nice employees. Close to RMNP and downtown Estes. Awesome laundry room!!! Very quiet and peaceful. A herd of elk walked right through the creek!! It was beautiful.

This is our second year we stay here. I think we are all in. Lots are very spacious. Our 32’ class C and tow vehicle fit perfectly. 50AMP, sewer, water, large table and area to relax. Kid friendly park, small lake for fishing. Elks walking around, lots of pine trees. Very close to RM Beaver Meadows and Fall River entrances. Walking distance to restaurants. Minutes away from the famous ELK horn ave (shopping strip) with lots of stores.

I specifically booked a 50 amp spot to charge our tow vehicle overnight like at home. They put us in a 30 amp spot and told us we weren’t allowed to charge at our campsite anyway. Against campground policy. Had I known I wouldn’t have booked here. They have a whole page of rules they hand you when checking in and that rule isn’t on there. I would not stay again. Spaces are tight. Seems someone is firing up a noisy diesel every morning at 6 am.

A nice park that's well maintained. Bathrooms are clean, we used the laundry room, they have a location to wash dogs, a small pond, and the Big Thompson River runs along the park. Great location too. It's located on the edge of Estes Park and within 2 miles of the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance.

This place was just great for us. Our children loved playing at the playground, our 5th Wheel and truck were able to fit in our site with ease, and the view was great. The staff was extremely helpful and very upfront about any and all deposits with a lack of refund; not once but twice. There was little to no interaction after that. It was quite, peaceful, and such a slice of nature that even my kids enjoyed. I hope that we can make it to Spruce Lake RV park again.

ok. I am in the planning phase of planning my rv trip. We travel alot. I was considering this place but im out. I see the negative reviews. What speaks volumes to me it the fact that the resort didnt respond to these reviews. It looks like they dont care. So you are not getting my business. Thank you for the reviews. They were very helpful. :(

When we spoke with the leadership of Spruce Lake RV Park, we were met with ugliness. Zero care, zero flexibility, zero empathy. It’s a shame, because we have been customers before and this time they seemed to go out of their way to let us know they don’t care. We needed to change our plans for emergency reasons, and they would not work with us. Estes Park is incredible, but this place is not. If the company is willing to work with us, we are totally open to changing our review based on past experience. But I doubt it. Stay elsewhere if you can.

My mother was recently diagnosed with a serious medical condition, which has forced her to cancel a trip she had looked forward to for months. When I contacted Spruce Lake RV Park to explain the situation and kindly request a refund for a single-night stay booked weeks in advance, I was met with zero compassion. The representative was dismissive, refused to work with us, and ultimately hung up on me mid-conversation. There was no effort to understand the situation, no flexibility, and certainly no empathy for someone facing unexpected health news. Policies are important—but so is basic human decency. What should have been a simple and graceful gesture turned into a cold and unkind experience. I urge others to consider how this business treats people not just when things go smoothly—but when life doesn’t.

I was going to make a reservation here to camp but after reading about all their fees, I decided against it. Instead of being customer friendly, they take every opportunity to add on a fee or surcharge to you. No thanks.

We rented a cabin for the weekend and we were a bit disappointed. The cabin came with nothing- no linens, towels, plates, cups, etc, which we knew ahead of time so we brought all of our own stuff but for the price I would expect more provided. The cabin was pretty dusty, most of the blinds were broken, it was extremely hot in our cabin as there is no AC and seemed to be no insulation, the pool was supposed to be heated but was very cold, the wifi didn’t work and overall, the grounds seemed to be a little run down. Also, the spots are very close to one another. Our kids did have a fun time fishing in the pond, but it cost $15/child/day which seems unnecessary considering the cost of the stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had an after hour issue and someone came over right away. We did get to see elk that came on the park in the evening. We probably wouldn’t stay again or recommend to friends.
