Great State Park, I have been camping here for almost 20 years. Great hiking, river access, and a clean campground.

This was a last-minute camping decision while traveling through the state. Was a beautiful drive down into the park. The attendant was both friendly and informative. I took a swim in the river, which was a somewhat steep hill down to the "beach" or bank. Campsite #104 was perfect for my tent. Had a great view of the star filled sky, and the fireflies lit up the woods. Had a great sleep. Will stay here when I come back through. Now, I'm not saying this is the park's fault, but the bathroom could use cleaning.

This place is so beautiful and has so many different features tucked away. It has a really nice creek with super clean water that's fun to explore. There are some beautiful rocks here big and small. The 2 mile trail through the woods is very muddy.

Lovely local state park! We appreciate having such a nice area near by. We've utilized all the different areas of the park from hiking trails, camping, playgrounds, playing in the creeks, and swimming in the river.

Another great local State Park. The trails offer a wide variety of terrain to traverse along with great cliffsides overlooking the Big River. Another of my favorite local destinations.

For a challenging and rewarding hike, consider the Pike Run South Loop trail in St. Francois Park. The trail offers stunning natural scenery, including creeks, and features steep, rocky, and muddy inclines. Sturdy hiking boots are strongly recommended; standard footwear is not advised unless conditions are exceptionally dry.

Very pretty camping area. Very few trees allowing for 0-1 hammocks. There is a trail leading to the river and it is beautiful!

Beautiful and plenty to do, There are campsites and day use areas. There is a river where people can swim or fish, I ended up hiking by the river which was therapeutic. Entry is free and in October you can see the fall weather colors. Highly recommended!!
