St. Ignace / Mackinac Island KOA Holiday

Make St. Ignace KOA your basecamp to explore Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Pictured Rocks, Soo Locks and more in the Upper Peninsula. Experience RV Camping, Cabins, Glamping and Tenting at our KOA.

Thank you for your interest in staying with St. Ignace / Mackinac Island KOA!

For 2022 season, we are adding Glamping tents, Jumping pillow and Basketball court. There will be no pool, as that area is being converted into a recreation space with exciting new amenities.

Located at the Straits of Mackinac, where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron converge, the St. Ignace/Mackinac Island KOA provides a terrific north-woods base camp. This waterfront town is the gateway to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a swath of pristine forests and jeweled lakes. Travel through the gorgeous Upper peninsula and visit Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Soo Locks, Shipwreck Museum and Pictured Rocks. There is so much more for you to explore in this pristine landscape.

Take advantage of the free shuttle from our KOA to the ferry that takes you to gorgeous Mackinac Island, where bicycles and horse and buggies are the only forms of transportation. Families love the area's beaches, lighthouse tours and state historic parks, complete with 18th-century forts and costumed interpreters.  Buy your FERRY tickets at DISCOUNTED rates at our store. You pay less at our store than buying at the dock or online from the Ferry companies.  Avoid long lines at the ferry - you can buy Shepler's or Starline's ferry tickets at our store, AND also use the FREE shuttle to the ferry.
Once you are ready to go, you can call the shuttle service number or inform our front desk and we will be happy to schedule it for you.

Check out our new Glamping tents for 2022 season.  They're so cool!

I prefer St. Ignace over Mackinaw City always because it’s more historical and vintage. The KOA is a great place to stay because it feels like a State Park but has full hookup and activities on site. They provide shuttle to the Mackinac Island ferry ride. And, they have a laundry room. And the WiFi is great.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary the last 3 days! It was truly amazing, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the cabin we stayed in was beautiful and perfect for us. If we didn’t have to leave we wouldn’t have it was super cozy, the mini golf for being free was super fun. The shuttle to catch the ferry to Mackinac island was very very convenient. We had the best time and made amazing memories, it’s not far from everything we will definitely be back!!

This is one of the best friendly accommodating campgrounds. Very clean, family oriented. We always ❤️ camp here. The hook ups are great and the lots are very natural. They have little cabins available too. We will continue to stay there when we visit the area.

My wife and I just got done with a week stay. The staff is super. The facilities are clean. Although the restrooms can get flying bugs in them overnight. I can not blame the staff. Bugs are attracted to lights at night. But they don't bother you. We enjoyed the stay and would stay again, no doubt.

Was an okay stay… Camp is quite run down, especially for an KOA branded site! Amenities such as mini golf are in terrible condition. Water shut off for quite a few hours during our stay, then we got told to boil all water we were to use for food or drink after that… we paid to have fresh water at our sight! Bathrooms were not very clean neither! Counters every time I went in their covered in dead bugs. Showers were just grimey. Seems like they are letting the camp go… very sad, looks like someone loved and had vision for this camp at one point in time. Unfortunately this is not the case so anymore! I really liked staying in the town of St. Ignace, but I wouldn’t choose this KOA for your stay!
