We come to St Joseph motel every Labor day. We rent small cabin. There is air-condition and heat , whatever you need. The light bulb is so weak and old that room is very dark. Bathrooms are clean and it's looks they are going to be remodeled The property is big and beautiful, plenty of room to walk and explore. Great mushrooms picking.

Horrible owners! My brother suffered a devastating house fire losing his 3 beautiful dogs, who were his whole world. Who he broke down the door and rushed into his smoke filled house on fire trying to save. After the red Cross spoke with him, they gave him a voucher for lodging good anywhere. Well, the St Joseph inn is 1 mile away from his now destroyed home. Thinking this would be a good place to stay, so he could be close to his home and able to run back and forth when needed. The owners WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE VOUCHER, that is good ANYWHERE!! They turned him away. Knowing the situation and seeing all the police and firetrucks going past only a few short hours ago. They refused the voucher due to his name not being PRINTED on it! Like the red Cross carries a printer along! How can people be so uncaring and cruel. They knew the whole situation, seen my brother's drivers license with his address, being a mile away and the police, the firetrucks....come on?!?! One night! Only one night did he need the stay and they turned him away. All because they thought his red Cross voucher was a scam and THEY wouldn't get paid!!! So I don't recommend this place. I don't know how the rooms are or anything else about the property. All I can tell you is about the cold heartless owners of this place. **fYI, I wanted my brother to come stay with me but he refused, only because I have dogs(who he loves like his own) and looking at them would have ripped his heart out all over again.

Stayed here for the first time this weekend. Room was large, extremely clean and beds were so comfortable! Even though no daily service extra towels, soap ect were provided. The grounds appear very well kept and plenty of room for parking. Tammy was very nice! Would stay here again in the future!

First time staying here. I can understand why they require payment when booking with no refund.. We would have walked out upon arrival. The carpets were torn and stained, the furniture was about 10 years past due for updating.. There was duct tape covering the holes on the loveseat and futon. Ants were all over in bathroom. Supposed to sleep six comfortably but the futon was horribly uncomfortable for our grandkids. Two bathroom size garbage cans with no info where to take the trash.. We will never stay here again. Also of note, I believe most people are aware of this motel/cabin as there were very few people staying over a holiday weekend.. Another issue is the "private lake" we were told it had not had any work done on it.. The kids playground was over run by weeds and the equipment was not in very good condition. The only positive I can honestly give is the location is good which is what drew me in. We stayed in cabin 16.

My husband and I needed a relax reset reconnect kinda weekend (we do these 3-4 times a year) and we decided to stay here and we're so glad we did. The room had beautiful wood and was extremely clean. We like spending money locally and we appreciate the struggles having a small business has to endure in these trying times. Our Preacher stayed here a year and a half ago when we got married and told us the room being really nice and we found his recommended rather modest...we found our stay here absolutely AMAZING...it was quite and with the exception of the satellite service being wonky ☺️🤭(we called and they offered to come immediately to fix it but my hubby said he'd do what they said might help and it worked) we had a perfect and AMAZING weekend doing exactly what we wanted...we relaxed...reset and reconnected 💕 highly recommend 💝
