Stadig Campground

Overview

Stadig Campground offers a traditional Maine camping experience, characterized by its tranquil, wooded setting and family-owned atmosphere. Established in 1963, this park provides a sense of history and community that is often missing from modern corporate resorts. Located just off the main coastal thoroughfare, it balances quiet seclusion with incredible convenience for travelers exploring the beautiful Southern Maine region.

Location & Surroundings

Situated on the historic Post Road in Wells, the park is perfectly positioned for those who want to experience the Atlantic shoreline. The surrounding area is famous for its long, sandy beaches and iconic rocky outcrops. A notable benefit of this location is the proximity to the local trolley system, which allows visitors to traverse the coast and visit nearby towns without navigating their tow vehicles through busy summer traffic.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed to accommodate various setups, offering essential services for a comfortable stay. Key features include:

  • Full hookup sites including water, sewer, and 30 or 50-amp electricity.
  • Spacious pull-through sites designed for big-rig accessibility.
  • Clean, tiled restrooms and modern laundry facilities.
  • On-site wireless internet and a dedicated playground area for children.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Guests are only minutes away from the pristine sands of Wells Beach and the artistic charm of Ogunquit. You can take a walk along the famous Marginal Way cliff walk or explore the local shops and galleries at Perkins Cove. Food enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to legendary Maine lobster shacks and fine dining in nearby Kennebunkport. The Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge is also a short drive away for birdwatching and hiking.

Who This Park Is Best For

Stadig Campground is ideal for travelers who prefer a quiet retreat over a bustling resort with constant organized activities. If you like being in the woods and having a quiet atmosphere then this is the place. Pine trees as well as leaf trees. It's a mom and pop kind of place. Laid back and comfortable. We're here in our 32' Class C with a car dolly, not a big rig place. There's your typical facilities, with a fire ring and picnic tables at each site. We will come again!

Best camping in Wells. The owners are wonderful. It’s nice to camp in the woods. I’ve been going to this camping for years and I will be going again.

Absolutely love this place. My first time here and I took a walk taking pictures of all their wood carvings in little trinkets. No dogs so it's quiet it's very peaceful and a lot of shade. Although there is no pool here the beach is a mile and a half away and another beach for a half miles away. The owners stop and say hello

This is a very safe family oriented campground. You will not need to suffer through drunken parties with loud music. Thank goodness it has irregular, large, beautifully treed campsites, not a gravel parking lot. It also has numerous statues and whimsical creatures which form a treasure hunt for young campers. I really love this place.
