A great tourist attraction. It may be compared to Yosemite National Park. Make sure you have enough gas. Enjoy beautiful forests, rocks, mountains, and streams.

This is one of my favorite places to visit. Highland Lakes Campground is absolutely gorgeous. Cool weather and tons of wildflowers in the summer. Be prepared for a long, winding drive though. Also no cellphone service or any kind of businesses/gas/food within a reasonable distance. So don’t forget anything.

What a way to start summer officially, though my summer in India was already half the way over. I needed to find a place that was not within Yosemite (needed permit), but in the mountains and at least a good two hour drive from Dublin so that I can enjoy the drive and get a good trek. This place is perfect. Not too far, not too close, lovely early morning chill, and well maintained trail.

My buddy hikes and camps all over and invited me to goto Yosemite. We found a spot to camp out just messing around on google maps here off an old logging road. Was so we could get into Yosemite first thing the next morning. Was pretty amazing. We camped right on the edge of the river and no light pollution meant we could stare at the stars and we even saw satellites buzzing by, I’d never seen that before was pretty cool. We had a young deer come into our camp to see what we were doing. It was such a pretty deer, he said it was a young fawn. We also had a from serenade us all night. He slept in his truck and I used a tent. Fell asleep listening to Into Thin Air audiobook. Was one of the coolest camps I’ve ever done.
