What a nice relaxing (but chatty sold out group!) boat ride on the river. Didn't see the Eagles but did catch some Egrets & Cranes, plus a little convention of turtles. It was a beautiful day, good price, and I'm glad we went.

We had a beautiful place on the river, which was gorgeous! The sites were a just ok, for the price we thought the grounds were not exactly kept nice. They have a very late check in time, and although they let us in an hour early… it wasn’t without trying to explain we were coming from 30 mins away from the last campground and we had no where to go for hours. Shouldn’t take over 4 hours to accommodate the few campers coming in earlier.

Our 184th stop found us at Steamboat Park Campground, where we enjoyed a five-night stay. This park served as an excellent base for exploring Grand Rapids, which is just a short 15-minute drive away. Its proximity to gas stations and shopping centers was also a significant convenience. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally friendly and helpful. While no physical pamphlets or booklets were provided upon check-in, all necessary rules and policies were communicated clearly and concisely via email, which we found efficient. The campground is situated along the Grand River, and we were fortunate to snag a site backing directly onto the water. Leveling our rig was a breeze – one of the fastest experiences we've had! Most other sites appeared similarly level. The main park road is paved, leading to crushed gravel sites. Each site boasts a concrete pad, picnic table, and fire ring, and they are generally well-shaded in the back half of the park, tucked away from the main thoroughfare, and pleasantly quiet. Important Tip: Pay close attention to the arrival instructions provided in their email; they are crucial for a smooth entry. Overall, Steamboat Park Campground is a solid choice for those looking for a peaceful and convenient spot near Grand Rapids. We'd rate it a strong 4.3 out of 5 stars. Connectivity (4 pm): T-Mobile 1.54 down/0.33 up; Verizon 39.3 down/1.91 up; Park Wifi (5 ghz)2.46 down/1.1 up (2.4 ghz)1.19 down/0.0 up; over 40 over the air channels. On the weekends, tower congestion and overload of the park WiFi made basic internet difficult during peak times.

My stay at Steamboat Campground was fantastic, the people over it was very friendly. The park itself was clean, well-maintained. I had to leave earlier than plan they refunded me for the days I wasn’t goin to be there no questions asked unlike most other campgrounds. I’d highly recommend Steamboat Campground to anyone who is in the Grand Rapids area!
