Steinhatchee River Club

Overview

Steinhatchee River Club offers a refined yet rustic getaway in Florida's scenic Big Bend region. This destination combines modern comforts with the traditional charm of a historic fishing village, creating an atmosphere that is both relaxing and adventurous. The park serves as a premier gateway to the Steinhatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico, focusing heavily on water-based recreation and coastal exploration. It is an ideal spot for those looking to experience the authentic, natural side of the Sunshine State.

Location & Surroundings

Situated directly on the banks of the Steinhatchee River, the park is nestled within a lush landscape of ancient oaks and cedar trees. This area, often referred to as the Forgotten Coast, provides a slow-paced atmosphere far removed from the crowded tourist corridors of southern Florida. The surrounding marshes and winding riverbanks create a natural sanctuary, offering guests a peaceful environment where the sounds of the water and local wildlife take center stage.

Amenities & Park Features

The park features well-maintained RV sites equipped with full hookups, including 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Guests have access to a private boat ramp and onsite wet slips, making it incredibly convenient to launch a vessel for a day on the river or the Gulf. On-site facilities include a refreshing swimming pool, a modern clubhouse for social gatherings, and clean laundry facilities. The park is designed to support long-term stays with high-speed Wi-Fi and cable television available at the sites.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Fishing and scalloping are the primary draws for visitors to this region. During the summer months, families flock to the area for recreational scalloping in the shallow Gulf grass beds located just a short boat ride away. Nearby, travelers can explore the scenic Steinhatchee Falls, the state's widest waterfall, or enjoy fresh seafood at local waterfront restaurants. The river itself is perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding, allowing for close encounters with manatees, dolphins, and diverse bird species.

Who This Park Is Best For

This location is a premier choice for avid anglers and boaters who prioritize direct water access and professional marine facilities. It is also an excellent fit for families seeking a traditional Florida outdoor vacation focused on nature rather than theme parks. If you are a traveler who prefers a peaceful, sportsman-centric environment with upscale amenities, Steinhatchee River Club provides the perfect balance of comfort and rugged coastal beauty.

We have camped here for several years. Each year we noticed the un welcoming of the property. Before there were people all around welcoming, helping with anything you needed. Now it’s just Roy and his helper. It’s like us staying there we were left to fend for ourself, but the marina is where ALL the attention is focused on. ROY however is AWESOME, HE IS WHAT KEPT US POSITIVE!!!! To check in a camp site you want me to drive my rig to the marina, park check in then go back? No ice, no gas, no small anything to purchase at the campground / cabins. Not even a T-shirt!! Our whole group and others who stayed noticed that ALL the focus is on the marina and not on the grounds!!! This was probably our last time staying here. Long time campers here and won’t be back.

Stayed at its cabin#2 for a week with family as our fishing trip at Steinhatchee. We all had a great time here especially during the off-season time. Fishing was excellence. The cabin and its community amenities such as the dock and cleaning station are clean and well maintained. We were able to dock our boat overnight and clean up our catches of the day after. One of the downsides was the kitchen that it needs to equip with more cooking tools and pots with lids. My mom had a difficult time to get the water to boil due to there was no lid for the pot. During our stay, we would like to particularly thanks the maintenance guy, Roy, for his hospitality. Roy is a super-friendly, passionate, welcomed, helpful, and down-to-earth person. He gave us a lot of fishing recommendation and offered help whenever we need him. Would definitely return there soon.

Very boater friendly. Friendly staff. Blonde lady at office was great and Roy the maintenance man was friendly too. Loved the cabin… except the bedroom AC unit blasts the person on that side of the bed and you freeze, then it shuts off you get hot… blows so hard when you pull up the sheet it takes off like a parachute! Not adjustable either. Hard to sleep. Kids did better in loft. Still a great stay but sleeping was tough (no measuring cups either but not a huge deal).

We booked a seven day fishing getaway at Steinhatchee River Club for the first week of March. The website reviews showed very clean and comfortable cabins so I booked. The website was dead on. The cabin was extremely clean, omfortable and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and approachable. The boat that we rented was exactly what we needed for fishing in the area. The place was really, really quite while we were there; slightly off-season. Perfect for a family getaway. We would return and stay here again if the opportunity arises.

We just recently stayed here. Our cabin was super clean and had all basic amenities to be able to cook homemade meals which is a huge plus. The boat ramp was perfect for loading and unloading our boat. The dock had cameras to help keep your belongings safe! TONS of trailer and vehicle parking. It was close to town. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly! We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend for others to book!
