Overview
Cedar Ridge Park offers a serene lakeside escape on the eastern shores of Stockton Lake. This Army Corps of Engineers facility is highly regarded for its well-maintained campsites and direct access to some of the clearest waters in the state of Missouri. Surrounded by dense hickory and oak forests, the park provides a peaceful environment where the focus remains entirely on the natural beauty and tranquility of the Ozark hills. It is a destination where the landscape takes center stage, offering a quiet respite for those looking to reconnect with nature.
Location & Surroundings
Located just northwest of the town of Stockton, the park sits on a scenic peninsula that offers expansive water views and immediate access to the lake's impressive 300 miles of shoreline. The surrounding landscape is largely undeveloped, which ensures that visitors can enjoy a quiet wilderness experience far away from the noise of major highways or busy urban centers. This makes the area a true sanctuary for local wildlife, including bald eagles and deer, which are frequently spotted by observant campers along the tree line.
Amenities & Park Features
The park features a mix of electric and primitive sites, many of which are spacious enough to accommodate larger RVs. Campers have access to modern shower facilities and clean restrooms located throughout the grounds. Key features of the park include:
- An on-site boat ramp providing a convenient launch point for a day on the water.
- A designated swimming beach area with a nearby playground for children.
- Multiple picnic shelters and a dump station for guest convenience.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Stockton Lake is widely recognized as one of the best sailing destinations in the entire Midwest due to the consistent breezes and wide, open waters. Anglers also frequent the area for its premier walleye, bass, and crappie fishing opportunities. For those looking to explore further, the nearby Stockton State Park offers additional hiking trails and a full-service marina where visitors can find boat rentals, fuel, and essential camping supplies to round out their trip.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for nature-loving families and dedicated outdoor enthusiasts who prefer a rugged, scenic setting over a commercial luxury resort. Another amazing USACE campground. shoulder season is 15 March thru 15 April and 1 October thru 30 November; during the shoulder season all campsites including those with electric are only $10. $5.00 for those with the America the beautiful pass. camping is free December 1 - March 15 but no electric is available during those months. Check the USACE STOCKTON LAKE website for regular rates and more info. This is an awesome campground !

Most excellent lake. Playground, boat launch, and camping area was fairly clean. There are only a couple of plastic bottles. It's really quiet on a random Tuesday in the middle of summer.

We stayed in an electric RV site on loop B (B8). There was a short trail down the hill to the water. There was even a little sandy beach area just down in front of the other sites. This was a popular place to swim, kayak, and boat. There a boat ramp just beside the campground and a beach and fishing dock a short drive away. The hosts were kind and helpful. There is a shower house not far from the sites as well as a vaulted toilet the opposite direction, towards the boat ramp. The playground is directly across the road from loop B.
