Beautiful park! While cruising down the parkway, we decided to check out this state park, so glad we did. The park is beautiful. Some steep roads to get to some places but we'll worth it. Lots of trails for all hikers and even a handicap road for folks in wheelchairs and electric chairs to reach the homestead at the bottom of mountian. We took the trails to the same spot, and it was an awesome hike. Well kept trails, and beautiful fall colors. The homestead was awesome and educational. Even a bathroom kinda tucked out of the way. The large dome mountian was beautiful. Even from our viewing point. There were more trails to take it all in, even a summit trail and climbing with permit. Our time was limited and we definitely plan to go back and hit the summit trail, and explore more of the park. If your in the area looking for some outdoor adventure, definitely check it out!

" A hidden gem with million-dollar views!" ,🍁🍂 This place is truly a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the incredible view of the Stone mountain. It was mesmerizing and even better than the photos online. The whole place has such a lovely, cozy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The attention to detail in the decor and the overall vibe made me feel right at home. I can't wait to return and soak up that view again. Five stars!

Stone Mountain State Park is a true standout in NC’s state park system. It rewards hikers who are willing to work for views and variety. Yes, the loop is difficult in parts, but those who tackle it come away with a sense of accomplishment—and some of the best scenic moments the region has to offer. There are also many waterfalls to see as well. Overall gorgeous park to visit.

Beautiful state park with nice trails. Campground was very nice with significant space between sites & paved roadways. Some RV sites are paved, as well - in both full, partial, & no-hook-up areas. Other sites without hook ups are well-graveled & are separated for privacy with natural brush. Bathrooms & showers are good. Views in some places are stunning. We would stay here again.
