Stoney Creek RV Park

Overview

Stoney Creek RV Park provides a tranquil home base in the Appalachian foothills of East Tennessee. This park focuses on a peaceful, scenic atmosphere where guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the region without the noise of major highways. It features spacious gravel sites designed to accommodate various rig sizes, offering a balance between rustic charm and essential modern conveniences for both long-term residents and short-term visitors exploring the valley.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Elizabethton, the park is tucked away in the scenic Stoney Creek Valley, surrounded by the rolling peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The property offers a quiet, rural setting that feels secluded yet remains conveniently close to the amenities of town. Travelers will appreciate the proximity to the Watauga River, a destination famous for its world-class trout fishing, kayaking, and refreshing water activities throughout the warmer months.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped with full hookup sites providing 30 and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. For guest convenience, the facility includes a clean bathhouse and reliable on-site laundry machines to make longer stays comfortable. Each site typically features a picnic table and a fire ring for evening gatherings under the stars. Reliability is key here, with high-speed Wi-Fi available to help remote workers and travelers stay connected while in the mountains.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do just a short drive from the park entrance. You can explore the historic Doe River Covered Bridge or hike the many scenic trails within the Cherokee National Forest. Water lovers often head to nearby Watauga Lake for boating and swimming. Additionally, the park is a convenient home base for racing fans visiting the Bristol Motor Speedway, which is located just a short drive away from the park gates.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal fit for nature lovers and trout fishers who want easy access to the river and mountain trails. It appeals to retirees and couples seeking a quiet, no-frills environment rather than a high-activity family resort. Because of its steady pace and proximity to local historic sites like Sycamore Shoals, it is also a great choice for extended-stay travelers looking to immerse themselves in the heritage and culture of East Tennessee.

I have been staying here for years on my way south for the winter. They play a large part in me and my wife getting south and then home in the spring safely. The trip is long and as I get older it becomes an Oasis in our adventure, we pull in right off Route 65 and in the morning get right back on to restart my trip. We are able to catch some TV and set and eat and a shower and wake up refreshed. They are easy to make reservations with, and full hookup and they are not hard on those Fixed Incomes, So please be safe in your travels and use Stoney Creek as that Oasis like we do. Thank you, Stoney Creek,

Was there this past weekend, (7/30/20 - 8/2/20) and it was nothing short of beautiful. Great, quiet, little spot on a hilltop surrounded by mountains and pastures. Very friendly people, and close to Lake Watauga. Can't beat the price! When I go back to this area of TN again, definitely going to check availability.
