A great location at the foot of Conns Notch and still close to other amenities, stores, and restaurants. The view from the campground is very nice. Mike, the owner, is a great guy and looks out for your best interest and a comfortable stay.

A very nice private campground. No lake or stream in the campground also there are no trails but there are gravel roads off the campground my dogs and I hiked. Some pretty steep hills. As in all private campgrounds the big rigs are packed in tight but if you are tent camping it looks awesome. Some sites are pretty secluded. It was a nice stay and we were off season so no pool or games it was OK very few people to.

We had a wonderful stay at Stony Brook Recreation! It’s a great, quiet campground, perfect if you’re looking for some peace and relaxation. As a full-time traveling family of five, we usually like being closer to the playground, but the full hookup sites here are located near the entrance, which worked out just fine for us. There are several outside games and mini golf near the playground, which we loved. Mike, the owner, suggested the Wheeler Bros. Mine Tour, which we did and absolutely LOVED (highly recommend!). The nearby town of Bethel was also a pleasant surprise, with a little grocery store, a nice park with a skate park, a museum, and several charming restaurants. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in this quiet, beautiful area and would happily return.

Such a good experience that we started planning our next stay before we left. My family tented out in one of the awesome, off to the side tent sites that was secluded from the main "road". Had someone show us to our site, everyone working was so friendly and really seemed to care if we were having a good experience. Spent hours in the beautifully maintained pool with the kids. They have nets out for tennis or volleyball, an adorable mini-golf course, a shuffleboard setup, and basketball hoops all in a nice central area to the camps. Bathrooms were clean. The owner was really friendly, knowledgeable, and has plenty of projects planned to spruce up some of the older bits of the campground that he inherited from the previous owners in less than ideal condition. The dark sky hours were a really awesome touch to the experience. The whole time there was so much fun and we can't wait to come back!

I loved staying in Stony Brook! I stayed in the back sites, in #19, and that was definitely the right call. Each of the sites was spacious, beautiful, and separated by trees from nearby sites. I was essentially living in a pine forest. It was incredibly peaceful the whole time, even with having games and activities nearby. The mini golf course was particularly cute. The amenities worked well, although WiFi and cell service was spotty. Camp store is well-stocked. The only downside was the price of laundry, which was about twice what I've normally paid. Mike was an incredibly kind and welcoming host! We had many good conversations during my stay and I hope to visit again someday.

We tested out our winter camping skills in our newly built van. The owner, Mike was great, he really seemed to care about us having a good experience. The facilities were exceptionally clean ( and I am a bit of a clean freak). Shout out to Peter Burr for his cleaning maintenance skills. The area is beautiful and we look forward to returning in warmer weather. Good value, great location and SUPER clean. Happy Camper.

Cabins were very clean and fully stocked!! Everything greatly exceeded my expectations. Staff was knowledgeable and extremely friendly! About a 15 min drive from Sunday River.. Would definitely return for another visit!

When checking in the woman was more interested in talking on her cell phone then dealing with customers. Once checked in I got brought to site 1 which was told was a camp site. It was a parking spot for site 2. The hookups were on the awning side and it was about 5ft off the camper so you could barely hook up and you could not put a matte out. the camper on site 2 was about 8ft from the front door. We didn't even finish trying to hook up we just left and won't be back there are 5 star plus campgrounds just down the road that we will go to instead.

This is a great campground! Quiet & peaceful with plenty of room for big rigs. Be cautious though when exiting the park and plan your exit accordingly. I was unfortunate and got stuck in the soft base and needed a wrecker to get me out. Mike and his team were instrumental in getting me out, from first trying with his own truck, moving rocks that were in the way and finally calling a wrecker service in town to get me out! THANKS, Mike! I definitely recommend this park.

My wife and I stopped in last minute seeking a basic campsite for car camping while on a 2 wk multi state trip. We had zero expectations prior to arriving, but after getting here, we both were very impressed and glad we had chosen this place kind of at random. The staff was great - super friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, engaging. The young lady that works the store was very sweet and had a genuine smile and seemed to really care about the experience. The tent sites are very nice - ours was pleasantly secluded and quiet, yet right by the washroom. They have a really nice /complete camp store, and a restaurant on premises -and the pizza was amazing. Like... I'm kind of a pizza dork, and there's only a few pizzas I've ever had that were "amazing" level and this one was. Let's see, what else... Good showers. Laundry on site. Owner is a cool dude who happily got me an extra bundle of wood and delivered it via golf cart, and we chatted a bit about nothing in particular but in that way that makes you really like the other person. All in all, a really, really nice place and if I / we wander back to West Central Maine on 2 or 4 wheels I will absolutely stay here again.

Been coming here for years. Beautiful property and the owners are just wonderful. Also, they have great store with amazing friendly staff. Please give kitchen a little more time when waiting for food. They are a campground and convenience store. Be patient and enjoy your time there. Again, very kind people.

Was supposed to stay 1 night but stayed 3. Chelsie was amazing in the store. Nancy makes the BEST breakfast pizza. I would get huge if I stayed here. Great food. Good prices Easy access to the campground, nice layout. I bet the sites are over a 100 feet long. No kidding. Views were nice and relaxing. Lots of ants around the site so I just walked them down by the office. We checked out the primitive tent sites across the road by the river. These were the best I have ever seen right beside the river. Passport America

We loved our stay at this camp ground. We had one of the River front camp sites and the sound of the River was so relaxing. The bathroom/shower were close to the sites and literally the nicest camping bathroom and shower I’ve ever experienced. The cute little general store had everything you could possibly need as well. Thanks for a great stay!!!
