What a fun place to spend an early halloween weekend. My son loved all of the activities. The site was large and clean. The people were very nice. No issues with noise, the staff were all amazing and helpful. Great place to bring your bike. We had a fantastic time.

Pros - Lots of fun activities for the kids. A full calendar and the activities are different (creative) than what you typically see at campgrounds which made it fun. A lot of seasonal guests, which gave it a nice neighborhood feel. Some were very friendly. A food truck or two there with good options if you didn’t feel like cooking. The entertainment they hire is great. We enjoyed the band on Saturday night. Horse racing was such a fun event. Cons - There is no oversight of campsites keeping their noise levels to a respectable level. Unless you go to the front office and complain, it isn’t very relaxing to be next to three different sites all blasting different music over each other. Activities were regularly running behind or canceled completely without notice. I understand some of it being due to lack of interest of kids but made it tough to plan our day out. This campground has so much potential! We started our weekend off thinking we could see ourselves getting a seasonal site, but not restricting the noise of other campers made us change our mind by the end of our stay.

Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend We recently stayed at Strawberry Park in Connecticut, and unfortunately, it was not a positive experience. While the campground boasts a long list of rules, none of them are enforced, leading to a chaotic and uncomfortable environment for weekend campers. One major issue we encountered was the strong smell of weed throughout the campground, despite it being strictly prohibited. The lack of enforcement on this and other rules created an unsettling atmosphere, especially for families with young kids. To add to the frustration, a random man approached our son and told him he couldn't ride his bike without a helmet—even though dozens of other campers were biking around without one. It felt arbitrary and unnecessary, especially when this was the only "rule" we saw someone try to enforce all weekend. Loud music from the site behind ours blasted until 12:30 AM, keeping our entire family awake. We reported the issue to the office and we were told Secuirty would take care of this, but nothing was done. It was clear that complaints were being ignored. The campground community was not welcoming at all. The large population of seasonal campers—who prefer to be called "owners"—act as if they own the park, often with an attitude that made us feel out of place. They weren’t friendly, and their presence dominated the campground in an uninviting way. Since the new management took over, it's clear that things have gone downhill significantly. It feels like they’re focused solely on bringing in more seasonal "owners" and cash, rather than maintaining a welcoming experience for weekend campers. Overall, we highly do not recommend Strawberry Park. It's a waste of money for weekend visitors, and there are far better experiences to be had at places like Thousand Trails parks, which offer more value and a friendlier atmosphere without all the drama.

Hold on to your hats folks this is going to be a bumpy ride.Arrived at 1 PM for checkin handed a map that was basically unreadable. As we pulled up to our site there was a broken down golf cart with a flat tire sitting on our site.A seasonal informed us that security had left it there days ago.We pushed it across the street thanks to our seasonal savior. We tried to back into our site only to discover that leveling would require lowering the front by 14 inches and raising the back by 10 inches.Site 409.The seasonals said they weren't sure why the campground would rent this site as this happens weekly. We tried calling the office 5 times but they kept hanging up.At the office I explained the situation to the girl at the desk. She said Let me see what I can do & handed me a list of 3 site numbers.I have to go check them out?Isn't this the campgrounds job?I was grateful for the seasonals who became our personal tour guides. All 3 sites proved equally unfit same pitch or lacking FHU.Back to the office I went again. At this point, my eyebrows rose in disbelief when she said,I have 2 more sites across the park, but she did not know if they were FHU because the computer doesn't provide that info.A campground computer system that doesn’t keep track of the basics?Perplexing. Her manager would call me.I headed back to the truck, where my partner was waiting now an hour and ten minutes.20 minutes later still no call. While waiting two different seasonals knocked on our window trying to barter their available sites for cash.It felt like we had unwittingly walked onto a reality TV show.I called the office back & I asked for a refund only to be told We will not do that for you. It’s not our fault you do not fit in the site.I mean who wouldn’t be surprised to rent a site that looked like a mountain range?Just then Bill the maintenance guy arrived. He whisked my husband off in search of the elusive level site.Husband called to say Bill had found us a site but I wouldn’t like it.The new site was a gravel parking lot at the entrance. The kicker? We couldn’t park the right way without raising the hitch three feet.We started setting up under the blazing sun, exhausted & suddenly we were met by Dan,just a casual aura of authority. With all the charm of a brick wall he says The Bates Motel is open for business. We exchanged glances searching for the hidden camera.Dan let us know our car needed to be moved during our setup in a unfriendly tone.I calmly explained that we’d be happy to move it once we settled in but Dan clearly wasn’t here for pleasant conversation. As we continued setting up in our site Dan parked himself across from us watching as if he were our personal audience.Because nothing says relaxing camping trip quite like feeling like you’re on stage while trying to level an RV.It took from 1pm till almost 4:30 to setup. Day 2 Dan rides up on his golf cart ready to argue with the neighbors like it’s the Olympic sport of the year. It was like a trailer park drama unfolded right in front of us.Who knew the owner could double as a reality TV star.Day 3 No water. Whole park was out & no email from campground.Water out from noon to 5pm during a heatwave.Day 4 Hunting for dumpsters. The camp map seemed less like a guide and more like a treasure map with Xs marking places that didn’t exist.Day 6 Email alert! Do not use the water without boiling it! No explanation offered. It was like a bad horror flick, cleverly leaving us to guess whether it was E. coli or the plague in the water.Welcome to the to the mystery of the week! And the final touch? The gate unlocked after 10 PM.Security? What’s that? I guess it's just a suggestion! Dirty pools with more debris than a garbage site, rundown buildings, and laundry facilities looking like they were rescued from a rusty graveyard. The food truck was the cherry on top or should I say, the only option left, because the onsite food was closed! The seasonal sites were the only bright spot, as if they were the hidden gems in this treasure trove of chaos. The best part of Strawberry Park was leaving Strawberry Park.

If you are looking for a party campground, where the rules are more like suggestions, security looks the other way on most things unless your friend is passed out in your campsite, and loud music plays wherever anyone wants all day and all night, then this is the place for you. However, if you want a nice family friendly place, like we were, avoid this place. (Hidden acres down the road is much better) I like music just as much as most people, but not at 3am. Security ignores most things and just warns people to not do things but they don’t kick anyone out, even when they are openly doing drugs(coke) in the campsite. Security also is not available after 11pm. Not sure how that is safe. Families really should avoid this place.

This place is very deceiving! I will never come back! The bathrooms were dirty need to be cleaned more frequently, they ran out of hot water immediately, the site was dirty upon arrival had to clean it myself, they allowed 2 tents on 1 site on Friday but not Saturday, do not rely on the food trucks because they were not there not the ones they advertised! Owner on the golf cart spent his Saturday ruining renters stays and forcing additional site rentals for compliance or face being kicked out. Although another site was purchased the owner drove by at least 20 times after that, group of men in golf carts showed up like the police in the middle of the night scaring our children and dogs , searching the site next to us interrogating us, almost looking for an excuse to break our reservation even though we cooperated with the inconsistent rules. It doesn’t seem like a place for new renters.. it was a waste of time and money!! Definitely never give them my money ever again .. oh and there is a lack of staff and no one watching their children !!! Children can get hurt in the pool area! the types of things I saw going on there with their drunk parents in the hot tub was appalling- and again no one from the park was monitoring that area .. not even the owner on the golf cart harassing the people at the tent sites - most likely because he can get more money out of us. Its poorly run and not worth the “resort” style camping!

How do I describe Strawberry Park… let’s start with the good. It’s huge, good size sites, tons of activities, multiple pools. That not so good, it’s busy and loud. Constant stream of golf carts driving by, like almost always. I’m hoping the loud part was just due to the particular neighbors we had (not seasonal folks, but weekenders like us) they were loud. It was bright at night, but we were near a bath house. Overall a positive experience but the not so goods, kinda overshadowed the goods.

I have been camping at Strawberry Park for many years. This year they said the site that I have been renting for the past couple years is no longer pet friendly. They now only have 5 dog friendly rentals. It’s camping… people like to bring their dogs. I understand they did some upgrades but that’s like saying no kids allowed. Kids can make just as much of a mess than a dog. There may be some people who do not train their dog or clean up after them but that shouldn’t negatively affect everyone. If a dog ruins something than the owner should be responsible to pay for the damage. Sun Fox campground says all sites are pet friendly but some are discouraged but still welcomed at owners expense. Also, they no longer have curtains. They have covered the windows with some film instead. So, all the outside lights gets into the cabin. The people across from us left their outside light on all night and it was shining into the camper. Also, from outside, you can see people’s shadows inside the campers if their light is on. Not very private. There are a lot of good things about the camp ground; friendly staff, fun activities, many nice pools, nice basketball and pickle ball courts, clean campground and quiet nights. It seems like they are short on staff. The pool no longer has an attendant. Kids were doing flips into the pool…very dangerous. There is no longer a concession stand. They have food trucks instead. The campground had people on the roof cleaning it with me inside and they didn’t even let me know ahead of time. It was so loud and scary. The guys didn’t even knock on the door to let me know they were going up there. Otherwise, it was a great experience. May try a different camp ground due to not many pet friendly rentals available.

I read lots of negative reviews after booking, but glad we went! Check in process was super easy, we rented an RV from the park. Yes they are old, but the inside was clean upon arrival, A/C worked great! Plenty of hot water, plumbing worked. Never lost power. Only suggestion I would make would be to power wash the outside of the units and sand down the decks. I would 100% stay in unit 113 again. It’s old, but still has life left! The pools were amazing. 3 pools, 2 hot tubs all in working order. Splash pad was nice. They had activities like an egg toss, dodge ball, bingo. The gift shop is not huge, but they had everything we forgot to bring. They had food trucks on Friday and Saturday as they do not have a snack bar. They had a live band on Saturday night which was good. Golf carts were in good working order and I would suggest you get one. Everyone from staff to other guests were very nice. Everyone says hello, and waves. Many of the owners were busy sprucing up their properties some are really beautiful. It’s a diverse community, great place for children. Our 11 year old made friends in 10 minutes, so much fun! Overall, a positive experience, we plan to return in July. I would suggest this campground. If you are expecting a hotel like stay, this place is not for you.

Twice their Bluegrass festival was cancelled after I made reservations. The 1st time it took two months to get a refund. This year the festival was cancelled shortly after I made reservations & never notified me. Supposedly there was a miscommunication between Management & whoever was taking reservations at that time. I caught the mistake & phoned to cancell as a Zyedego festival was scheduled for the same time frame. I was told I would be credited soon. After two weeks I called a 2nd time. Their response was "we will notify Management". My credit card company already charged me so I was waiting for a credit. Finally I had Visa dispute the charge & was issued a credit immediately. I probably won't book anything there again. I don't like the way they do business. They use the guest's money until forced to issue a refund. They even had the nerve to mention a cancelation fee!! Didn't happen..

We have a loud group next to us 5 families deep. They do not follow any policies. They play music really loud day or night. Even past quiet hours at 11:30pm. They have a megaphone. Super rude till 4am. Oh and 3 very bright flood lights high up in the trees. Management has been told and spoken to this group several times. The police were called. Doesn’t seem to make a difference since this group knows Strawberry Park won’t kick them out even though SP are being disregarded. What is making me upset, is that Strawberry Park is not standing by their policy and protecting the rest of the community guests who are following the rules. Otherwise the resort is okay. But an employee told us these loud groups happen all the time here and the park does nothing. So not worth sanity or money. Won’t encourage any friends or family to book here.

I love this campground resort. There are always activities and fun things for the kiddos to do. The lots are a little on the small side so if your looking for privacy this is probably not the campground to go to. They did have an excellent live young band that play a variety of music. Will definitely go again!

We enjoyed our stay at the park. The music was great and we had a chance to relax.
